Thanks to all who left comments on the site letting me know that Create-A-World now works with Ambitions. According to The Sims Team, all you need to do is uninstall the current version of CAW then redownload the program from the official Sims 3 site and install it again. So what are you waiting for, give it a go to see if it fixes the problem!

I did redownload and CAW still don’t work
It starts, it loads. BUT! when you create or load city it’s says “bla-bla-bla attemted to read locked memory bla bla CAW’ll be close” pff, EA as usual made something wrong. haha =)
ok so i did what the last post said (solution to version 0000)
so i opened the base game launcher not the one with ambitions logo but the one with the original sims 3 logo and it worked but it asked thet a new update is available and would i like to update my game
i havent done anything and i would like to ask that should i update my game?
btw the game update is for 1.14/2.9/3.5/4.2
nd my current game version is 1.14.11.007002
when i open from ambitions launcher it gives me the error that THERE WAS AN ERROR DURING STARTUP PLEASE SEE LOG FOR MORE DETAILS and my game version comes 0000\

Dang, they still havn’t fixed the V-Sync issue, I got up to 250fps in Edit In Game mode. :S
With this new download version will we still need to use the old CAW patch? or is it included?

It loaded for me just fine. Finally! Let’s see if I have any issues later. *crosses fingers*
doodlesam, you can always force V-Sync on in your graphics panel by selecting the game executable and apply the config you want.
What EA need to do is a option to limit the frame-rate and ALSO a V-Sync toogle option.
I mean, seriously? Some people around there are burning their cards and they don’t even realize!
Will I lose my world projects by unistalling?
Owen, over at MATY they have a frame limiter that lets the game go up 30fps I have been using it for a very long time and it helps a lot! and to be honest I trust something a fan site made to stop frame rates rather then some thing EA would make cause lord knows it wouldn’t work right.
Since I can no longer access the main sims website, does anyone have link to the newest version of the CAW at anyother DL site?

After you install it, Uninstall the EA Download manager and Reinstall it. Then start a sims 3 launcher and get the update that shows up.
Hey ! it worked ! First if you have “Create a world”,uninstall it and follow this simple steps : 1.Download “CaW” from Anon’s link here it is : http://llnw.thesims3.com/content/global/downloads/caw/worldtool.exe and install it.
2.Download & install “Any Game Starter” from modthesims.info here is the link : http://chii.modthesims.info/getfile.php?file=1108947 100% no viruses.
3.Rename “CaW.exe” from the “Create a world tool” folder in “TS3.exe”
3.Start “Any Game Starter” and click “add profile” then click “show advenced options” and at the “Executable” paste or browse the pathe to the new renamed “TS3.exe” but do not click the ambitions expansion.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE answer this- do i need the sims ambitions game on my pc for CAW to work, and how do i fix this problem?- every time i download the CAW, a message comes up, saying that the version of CAW that i just downloaded is not compatible with my computer and that i must uninstall that newly downloaded version of CAW, and find the “new version of CAW” to download. I have been looking EVERYWHERE on the internet for “the new version of CAW” but i cant find anything! Does anyone have the same problem as me? Did anyone find a solution to it, and what is it? Is there a way around this? Do i really need the sims ambitions game to download CAW? I have been trying to get CAW for months and months now, and i still have not gotten anything, and this is driving me crazy!!!!! SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!!!!!
IceCream – CAW version 1.9 should be compatible for all games (Except Late Night, I think). We have it available to download in our Sims 3 Programs – Official Tools section.
If you do have that version, it may be best to hit up the technical boards over at the official Sims 3 forum for advice. 🙁

Same as everyone else, i am just wondering when they’ll update it. does anybody here know?
got a simple solution for most of you. install the base game of sims 3 on a different computer, update it with ea download manager. download the create a world file on this site, install it, and it should work. then when youve create a world, export it and import it to your other computer. I havent tried exporting yet, but so far so good.

You just have to edit a file in notepad so it has matching numbers depending on your version. It’s amazing such a small thing can cause such frustration!
