Just picked up this bit of information thanks to Sims 3 Nieuws. It appears that 3 Featured Artists from The Sims 3 Resource and one of Sims 3 Nieuw’s staff will be teaming up to help out EA Netherlands on a top secret project regarding custom content and The Sims 3. Will they be testing out a new tool? Is it the Create-A-Pattern tool? New content for the game? No idea, but I’m interested! Good luck to the 4 that was picked, can’t wait to find out more!

We wish them the best of luck in the project and certainly appreciate the quality approval from EA themselves! We Wish Them the best of luck in the project and certainly appreciate the quality approval from EA Them elves!
I really wish they would stop ignoring the creators at modthesims in favor of the FA’s at TSR.
I’m not surprised. Even though the creators at MTS are really more talented than the TSR FAs, EA seems to favor TSR.
Yeah, there’s a slew of them on the BBS as Simgurus, as well. A Simguru ‘Meatball’ was bragging about how hot their swedish virtual artist was. Yuck.
FYI:
EA made a post last december for this project asking for Dutch CC makers, maybe nobody from MTS replied?
And the CC makers who now work on the project were choosen because of the CC they make, not because they belong to this or that website.
🙂
Angela is ex-crew member of my website, she’s fantastic in creating stuff.
Then how come they were all TSR members? Even though MTS is a FREE site that doesn’t hack/steal/make you pay they get the short end of the stick, How come TSR gets invited to these events but not Delphy, HP,etc.? And I don’t believe “maybe no body from MTS replied” even if no one from MTS did there are tons of other creators out there that aren’t associated with either
A couple of theories: Maybe TSR is favored by EA since they don’t actually modify game (like many MTS downloads) but rather create custom content to add to the game. In other words they add to the game rather than changing or replacing parts of it. EA can’t very well support or endorse something that could potentially crash your game. (Not that I’m insinuating that MTS content would crash your game or isn’t of a high quality. I’m just playing devil’s advocate.) Also, the files are directly picked up by the game’s custom content installer on TSR rather than having to work through 3rd party programs. Maybe TSR is more in sync with EA programming. (Though that is totally just a guess, I really don’t know anything about that.) One final thought is that you sometimes see adult(ish) content on MTS whereas (to the best of my knowledge) that stuff isn’t allowed on TSR.
