It’s about bedtime here, but before I go I’d like to share with you my screens and videos from my time spent playing The Sims 3 Ambitions.  I’ve jumped right into the game only to join the Ghostbusting career.  By the time I finished, I was promoted to Level 2.  I can’t really share much details about the game – I did a little exploring and inventing, but most of the time was spent on catching ghosts 😛

  1. Very glad you got your game early, Jud!

Would love to see a journal of your gameplay experiences. Screenshots are great, but I’m a text fan 😉

  2. Excellent, the GB music is very catchy!

If you get a chance please can we see more of the firefighter career, that looks very exciting. xD

  3. I’ve got a quick question to anyone who’s played the game and can answer. I apologize if this question has been answered already.

For those that’ve checked out the FD career, when responding to a fire, do you act alone, or with other fighters? Because I know there’s more than a single fire-fighter on-station at a department at a time and I know more than one hop on the truck.

  4. Awesome! Leave it to Jud to finally lift the lid on the two parts of this EP I’ve been the most curious about! appareciate the videos too.

And thanks for not calling it the copyright-avoiding ‘Ghost Hunter’ crap when it’s blatantly actual Ghostbusting. xD

You came! You saw! You kicked its butt!

  5. @Kirikou: Buy it, you cheaparse.

Disappointed to see that the lighting hasn’t been fixed. Why on earth won’t EA reinstate the old lighting system – you know the one they boasted about prior to the game’s launch last year? Having lights that that cut off at lot or wall boundaries as well as radioactive shiny surfaces really kills the immersion.

Anyway, looking forward to Judd’s impressions of the EP itself!

  6. Interesting! But, I decide not to get this one. I am wanting to get my hands on Pets/Seasons expansions in the future.

  7. doooo iiiiitttttt…..i dont have any playable ghosts either, but i’d love to try it once i get the game ON TUESDAY argh but w.e. lol

the first ones i’m gonna do are the stylist and architecture careers….

  8. Playable ghosts are acquired easily without disposing of any sims. To get one just play a klepto sim, steal a grave from the graveyard (wait till after 7pm with no one watching), bring it home, wait a few days (2-4 usually), for the scientists to ring you and give you the opportunity and then with the urn/grave in your inventory, click on the science building and select revive ghost and it will become playable. 🙂

Great work on the info guys. I don’t think I have ever wanted a sims expansion pack as much as this one and all these videos make me want it even more! 😀
