With two days to go until what all of us in the fan/news site biz feel is The Sims 4 Announcement, EA Russia’s @TheSimsRussia Twitter tweeted the following…

Don’t they read forums? They can’t be that alienated. NOBODY wants online features. Gosh!

Our greatest fears are being realized. Question now is if anyone will remember what happened with SimCity at launch?

EA will make this look enticing and like the best thing since sliced bread. Of course they will. That’s marketing. The question now is how many people will “forgive” EA and buy into it?

The final nail for EA’s coffin is fast approaching. If they screw this up…

EA seriously are so stupid…there’s not a big enough demand for online features, the majority of Simmers prefer to not be online. Sort it out, EA.

I want online features. As long as they are optional then there are no problems, The Sims isn’t facing a reboot like SimCity so it’d be silly to suddenly announce a whole online only version of this franchise. But I bet it’ll be a feature.

Where u found the word “ready”. It says just: “Do you like to play online with your friend?”
    ;)))

While I think this is again a new attempt in turning The Sims franchise into a MMORPG/Facebook, I won’t mind as much IF (and that’s a big if) it’s a feature that I can turn on/off.

I don’t want to be forced to have billions of “friends” so I can unlock features/objects, or to put pressure into my computer by having it trying to login like crazy (because we all know EA programmers don’t clean their messes).

As long as it’s an optional feature then I don’t mind. I don’t think it would be wise to make it compulsory after the SimCity launch.

Of course, there’s always a chance that this isn’t The Sims 4 and just a new version of The Sims Online or something like that. Although I highly doubt this.

I sense an uprising in the sim community.

Sims 4 online will be a nightmare. The Sims community is 10 times larger than the Simcity one and see what happened to that game. Make it optional or I will not be playing it.

Oh God no not an “Online function”….. RIP to our beloved Sims franchise the modding community and cheat codes 🙁

    Just another big app…like SimCity.
And I still believe that the 2 will be linked.

    If it’s The Sims 4 and it’s on-line only then I’m not buying it…

I have zero interest in playing on-line, with, against or influenced by anyone else.

I bought every version of Sim City, but I refuse to buy the latest one because of this, and I will don the same with The Sims 4…

Way to loose a long time fan EA…
