By now most of the world can download FreePlay for free via the iTunes App Store, of course Simmers in the US still can NOT. This is another clue that Playfish is behind the game. Anyways, here’s their review thing.

All the actions that the player makes the game shall be treated as a unit as XP. XP can be obtained by asking any of your Sim, for example: go to the bathroom, to work in the garden, dance, or you can get them for your home arrangement. For those who have played The Sims Social familiar with this system. All the XP added, and after reaching a certain value increases the level of player, then open up additional opportunities. For example, when you reach the second level the opportunity to plant carrots in the garden. Beds, by the way, the player is available immediately, but only after a certain vagaries Sim.

Listen, this is unprofessional and rude towards all of the countries that QUITE LITERALLY NEVER get a game first. I know you’re used to getting everything first, but that doesn’t mean that as soon as you don’t it gives you the right to moan. WE don’t, so YOU shouldn’t… our situation is worse than yours, believe me.

Jonny

As far as I can tell it’s not available in the UK either yet. Just hang in there 😉

thesimling

You see!!! We STILL don’t get it before you… so STOP COMPLAINING that you aren’t getting ONE THING first.

I have a right to complain. 1st: It’s an iOS game, not a console game thus EVERYONE should get it at the same time or at least during the same week. 2nd, I can also complain because we may get a lot of games made by NA companies first, but NA fan/news sites almost NEVER get to play early versions of EA games like Euro Simmers do. That and they NEVER have special events over here. E3 doesn’t count as Simmers usually don’t get to play the new/upcoming Expansions. But the main point of my small rant was that is kinda proof that Playfish is behind the game due to the fact that they did the same thing with Sims Social whilst it was in Beta and during release. 🙂

thesimling

What difference does it being iOS make? What difference does SOME LUCKY European Simmers getting to play it early mean (that doesn’t apply to the AVERAGE people I’m on about)?

The fact is, blackscorpion, you ranted when you figured out it was released SOMEWHERE ELSE FIRST. You, for all we’d known back then, could have been second (by a day, maybe)! NA’ers get nearly everything first… don’t be spoilt! If I was in your position I wouldn’t be complaining, because I get every other game first!! ONE game, no matter what platform, shouldn’t set you off moaning if you get everything else first.

>:(

mari

It sucks the us still doesn’t have the game, but every other country gets it first. :/

frankie

I’m actually not bothered by the fact that we Americans weren’t first to get this game. I just wish it weren’t only for iOS, since I cannot justify the cost of a new iPod Touch for just this game, and one that may or may not even be that great. It looks fun, but I’d have to try it out just to know for sure. Besides, without an iPad, it will probably be very uncomfortable to play due to the screen size. It’s just unfortunate that The Sims Social couldn’t be more like this one. I love how FreePlay is in real-time and that you can play with other people and not robot versions of them. Oh, well. We can’t have everything, I guess.

thesimling

Frankie brings up a good point… games like this on an iPod WOULD be unbearable…

And it’s nice that you’re an American that knows how the world works 😉

if Jud felt the same way or said something similar, you guys wouldn’t attack him. I dunno why when I express an opinion y’all feel the need to attack me.

Frugal

Thesimling,

Your anger is unjustified and childish. Moving on…

thesimling

theblackscorpion – Do not bring anyone else into this. I hate Americans (ANY OF THEM) that complain when they don’t get ONE game (ONE) game first. We NEVER get a game first, and you don’t see us complaining. It’s a perfect example of how Americans think they are superior to the rest when they, frankly, aren’t.

mari – That’s ONE game. Who gets all EP’s first? Who gets all SP’s first? Who gets all base games first? Yeah, the US. So one game, if you understand how lucky you are, shouldn’t bother you.

Frugal – How so? You’ve said this statement purely to provoke me because if you were interested in making me CARE about your opinion you would have backed it up. Blackscorpion’s anger is unjustified too… he gets all but one first but because he is so selfish he moans when he doesn’t get one first.

If JUD was to come on here, whining that he wasn’t getting ONE game first then I would be complaining to him. I HATE the stuck-up and superior attitude some Americans have, and the last post on this and this one exhibit it profoundly.

YoungOldPrude

@thesimling

I humbly suggest that you try to look on the bright side. If Americans choose to take advantage of their ability to buy the game first, then they can also be the ones to first discover the glitches, consequently enabling you take proper precautions.

thesimling

YoungOldPrude, This isn’t a question about me being sad. This is a question about certain people being corrupt with greed – getting one game later than everyone else… well, c’est la vie!! Some countries like the UK never get a game first, so one game not first shouldn’t result in moaning…

I’m really not liking your anti-American attitude. Also I am not selfish or stuck-up. The fact of the matter is this is how the video game industry used to be and mostly still is. A subsidiary of a company, whether it’s based in the parent company’s country or abroad usually releases games in the parent’s country first. The fact that EA’s subsidary Playfish is doing the opposite and releasing their Sims games to everyone else first and the US last along with having all of the Sims 3 Expansion events/preview events outside of the US is partially fueled by EA’s greed and the stupidity of their CEO. One last thing, if I would have been born and raised in Japan, I would feel the same way if Nintendo released a high-profile big name game outside of Japan first and then Japan last. Has nothing to do with being an American, it’s the principle of the matter. Rockstar North doesn’t release new GTA games in England/Scotland first do they? NO, they release them first in their parent company’s country, Rockstar Games NYC, USA. Let that be the end of this discussion. This game requires a constant internet connection, better use wi-fi or else you’re limited monthly data bandwidth will be used up for the month… ouch!

thesimling

No, I’m not anti-American… I have many American friends…

The fact is you are moaning because you got one game last… even though you get all of the others first.

Constant internet connection… why? :O

i guess it ties in with the real time gameplay or achievements.

Judhudson

Sorry, just got back from a little trip. My guess is that we’re not getting it first cause they know that here in the US, we’re more likely not to fall into their trap of giving them more money for their digital downloads/additions. If I had to guess, unless it’s for a game like Call of Duty/Modern Warfare, DLC is probably doing poorly on these types of games in the States. Other areas where it is releasing are probably more easily to fall into EA’s overall milking scheme and to pay for additional content. That necessarily isn’t a slam against anyone else, but it’d be nice if everyone could wise up and say no to EA’s overcharging crap and force them to either lower the price or to drop it. 😛

thesimling

Probably achievements, since the time is put in your iProduct when you start it.

thesimling

Or just richer countries? No offence to America, but they are in trillions of debt. Is Singapore in debt (just wondering, don’t care for politics)?

Anyway, it doesn’t seem that good a game so you shouldn’t be disheartened that you don’t get it first! 😉

I’m not really upset about it, more so about us not getting the community events for new Expansions like they do in Europe and other parts of the world. I’m the jealous type. ^_^

frankie

Well, I’m glad we got that squared away. I agree with Jud. It seems more logical when considering the company we are dealing with. 😉

thesimling

frankie – I never said it wasn’t more logical :p I totally agree with Jud, it IS logical for it to be released in the US first! (All what I was saying was, basically, “it’s just one game”.)

And these hands-on events are stretched quite far throughout the countries and aren’t that often in occurence. Don’t be sad about it, it’s just life. 😀
