Okay, so common sense says that the fourth expansion pack for The Sims 3 will be announced soon. Very soon, in fact. I wish I could say more, but at this point in time I cannot confirm nor deny (EA legal mumbo-jumbo) the reports of the ‘rumor’ Sims 3 Generations that many fansites are reporting on. Sucks that I can’t really report on these rumors (but I can’t stop you from using Google).
So hang in there, we’ll post about the 4th pack when we’re allowed to talk about it!
I’m waiting patiently, I’m very excited about it as I believe this next one will be about weather (and more).
If not, then pets. It’s what most people talk about, but I’m also hoping for something different…

As much as I want weather, I’d take a family pack over Seasons anyday.
It was suppost to be the 25th (Friday) But EA_Shouren on the EA UK forums said this date has been changed and will notify us when they can … so EA have delayed it.

Hmmm, sounds like it could be a pack themed around romance and family. That could really expand and improve the core game. If done right.

Either Pets or Seasons/Weather. What does “Sims 3 Genereations” mean? Is it a joke? I Google’d it, and nothing relevant came up.
I’m sure Generations is just a default name of some sort. Like “After Dark” and “Hobbies & Professions” were.
Worst case scenario is that it turns out to be one huge advertisement for one of those ancestry finder websites. LMAO

Interestingly, it will be announced soon before the release of Medieval. Thought it will be after it was released.
I would like Seasons and Pets, it doesn’t matter which one, though. Generations? We sort already have it in the game. Or is it that it will be more detailed and expanded? Anyway, it doesn’t interest me at all for now.

I think that it does have something to do with weather, or the outdoors, for that matter. The reason why I suspect this is because the last SP was outdoors related, and EA has seemed to release SP that are related to an EP that comes up around the same time. This is only my guess. But I do hope I am right, I really want weather/seasons and pets/animals!! 😀 When you said that you can’t keep us from using google, do you mean if we search google we’ll find what it is? What should I search people!?!? haha

EA has sure kept this 4th expansion under wraps without information about it released so far.
If speculations are true and this 4th expansion pack is to be released before Medieval (March 22), then that means both games will release within a month of each other.
From a marketing and sales POV, this doesn’t make much sense for EA. Releasing 2 products near each other means less sales for both games.
Unless… Medieval and Sims 3 EP4 are bundled together?
Not for me it wouldn’t. I want to see weather in my game, but not at the expense of having to put up with pets. I seriously hope EA don’t go down this route.
I think it took them so long to release the news because of the Medievil shit. They are focused on it and probably don’t want to overshadow it by the fourth EP. That is why sites are quiet and don’t want to spill anything too.

Maybe I’m just being unimaginative but, what the hell could an EP called Generations be about? Isn’t that what’s already happening in regular game play? OR MAYBE THIS WILL BE THE GIANT PATCH THAT WE ALL CRAVE?! SO MASSIVE, IT’S EP SIZED! Right.
Also, as far as Medieval, I can’t say I’m terribly excited. I already play Oblivion which I’m thinking will be exactly like Medieval but without the awesome fighting, but with “romance” and pesky children who need to be trained.

I work at a CERTAIN NAMELESS COMPANY and i have seen something about this ep but i signed a agreement so i cant say anything but all i say is its flippin’ cool (^_^) cant wait,it will be a GREAT addition to anyone’s Sims collection
So no Pets and no weather?! Now we have all the proof we need that EA is just in it for the money and don’t give a damn about what we the players want.
Well, the game has come off of our machine and won’t go back on until we see a pets pack.
Of course if it’s the last pack of the series, there won’t be any point in buying it as within 6 months there’ll be a Sims 4 out, then we will wait and see when pets come along with that one…
No, all we have is a name: Generations, and even that could be little more than a working title.
What the heck could generations even be? It sounds like a legacy challenge to me and I never got into those.
I’ve removed ALL Sims 3 stuff from my system as well because none of it really lived up to the hype for me. It’s sad because I absolutely loved the sims for about 10 years but each time I tried to play The Sims 3, it seemed more like a chore than fun. I’ll keep checking back here to see if there is anything that might seem like it will make it fun but I won’t buy anything more until other people have had it for a while and I’ll see if it can stand the test of time. Every one of the expansions for TS3 was fun for only a few days but once I had done everything there was to do, it was just the same old boring crap so I wish something fun would come along and renew my sims love affair. It’s sad to lose something you have loved for so long.

well medieval had a great amount of different animations for different kind of sims, so maybe they made a game that would do the same.. add more interactions and such…. i just hope it’s better than all those EP’s… I got bored of the sims 3, which I thought I’ll never be… oh well… i hope this will bring me back to the sims 3…

Well, it’s officially Generations. But maybe there will be rain added? I thought that the “knee high” water thing would be impossible, but it’s basically like a sea level rise. I think there will be rain in the Generations patch.

@ there is a name of EP called Generations on the left side of the page – left bar.
And if you click on the http://de.thesims3.com/game/ep4/videos and you can change the “de” into any language, you will see on the left panel the name of the future EP. In the German is the Lebensfreude what means Joy of life (Joie de vivre)
I think most people want either Weather and/or Pets and I think EA knows this. I also think they are holding off on releasing these because they know that most people will buy EPs to add to their game but once those people get their game to a point they like and feel is fun, they aren’t as likely to buy the more unpopular ideas for EPs. So, I feel like they are releasing the ones that may not be as popular first hoping that more people will buy them just to give their Sims something to do until the popular EPs are released.
I had gotten to the point of where i was so bored with this game and EP’s that I uninstalled all of it and thought I would re-install once something fun comes along but I’m finished. I feel like EA has ruined this game by milking it for every penny they can get and the fun of the game has suffered. It just didn’t hold my attention for very long because there wasn’t enough to do in the base game or any of the add ons. So, I hope you all enjoy giving more and more money to EA because I’m out. Peace.
First off, if this is an expansion, I have a feeling that it is going to kind of suck. I think they need to ask us, the players on our ideas for next expansion packs, and then other players can vote on those ideas, so we get much-wanted expansion packs.
I loved World Adventures and Ambitions, I’m still waiting to get Late Night and the stuff packs, but this is something I really don’t want to see happening. EA needs to start a poll on ideas, not shoot out blanks of crappy ideas.
I just want the announcement to come out already so we know exactly what we’re getting…
