If using the Create-A-World is crucial to you, then by all means avoid updating to the latest patch (1.17/2.12/3.8/4.5/5.2) or installing The Sims 3 Late Night. Word is coming in that CAW does not work, giving the same errors as users got when they installed The Sims 3 Ambitions. There is no telling when The Sims Team will update CAW or even issue a patch for it, so the best bet is to hold off until then.

This was fixed, possibly right away. You just have to uninstall CAW and download the latest from the site. (You might not even have to uninstall…)
The latest version is 1.10.09, while the previous was 1.9.16.

Yes. EA released a patch for it yesterday. Re-downloading the tool seems to do the job. I think EA should actually announce the update on the site rather than silently updating the installer.

Jud it OK It was in the installer, it said this is required for CAW to work but you had to download a new CAW first
Ahhhhh….I’ve yet to install the new patch, thats why. I have to reinstall all my games again – got hit with the 0.0.0.0 game launcher bug with the last patch. Thanks, Riley.
Can you tell me the link on where EA has the patch so the game can work… Mine keeps crashing 2 seconds into game play.

What I need to know is if you have a world in progress going in caw, and you uninstall caw (having backed up the world of course) and then install the latest patch and caw, will your backed up world be compatible with the new version of CAW?

I wonder why EA didn’t announced this, people should not guess that it needs to be updated, one that develops the software must warn their users of it’s incompatibility.
