EA Mobile showed off their lineup of upcoming iPhone/iPod games this past weekend at PAX 2009.  One of those games was Spore Creatures, the sequel to Spore Origins.  Now, don’t get this version mixed up with the DS’ Spore Creatures, as this is a whole different game. It was recreated from the ground up, giving you 20 levels split in 4 zones.  You’ll be controlling your creature by tilting your device, devouring smaller animals to grow your pocket friend into a “lean, mean evolutionary machine”.  You’ll be able to battle bosses during the end of a select number of levels, so your decisions will impact how the creature’s skills will develop.

When it comes to constructing your creatures, you’ll be able to choose from 5 categories of options:  offense, defense, movement, social and perception.  You’ll be able to unlock new parts when your creature hits a certain evolutionary point.  Other game options include the ability to use your own photos as textures – much like Spore Origins – and support to listen to your own library of music (if you have the 3.0 OS update).

My only question is if it’ll tie in to Spore Origins so you can pull your organism from that game into Spore Creatures.  No dates were announced, but they did mention it will be released before their fiscal year ends – so sometime before the end of March 2010.
