I wish instead of releasing all of these smaller collection packs they’d put all 17 discs onto a dual layer dvd (the filesize for all of the expansions and packs amount to 14.1GB) as installing 1 DVD would be a lot less hassle than 17… Either way, we probably won’t see it until EA releases smaller packs (remember the Deluxe and Mega collections for TS1?). SimTimes found the official details for the next Sims 2 Compilation, called ‘The Sims 2 Best of Business’.
The collection will contain The Sims 2 Open for Business expansion pack, The Sims 2 H&M Fashion Stuff as well as The Sims 2 Kitchen and Bath Stuff Pack. The pricing will be set at $20 again, with a rough estimated release date (according to Dutch site MuizenShop) of October 16, 2009.
Actually with 14.1 gb, it would be two dual-layer DVD discs for a complete collection because one dual-layer holds up to 8+ gb (unless it changed now). I’m sure they will do it just like with Sims 1, but why not milk Sims 2 as much as possible for the time being? I am not getting any of these stupid collections, though. I will, however, get the complete collection since I may want to play the game some time in the future and I will not be looking forward to installing 28 discs of the entire Sims 2 series (28 for me because my base game is 4 discs). So yes, I’ll most definitely buy the complete collection, as I actually see complete collections as worthy of buying but not packs like these. Actually, I hope that when the complete collection does get released, it will come with all the Sims 2 store items and pre-orders, etc., to make it even more worthy of buying. That’d be nice in two discs for $50. And even then I’d wait until the price go down, lol.
LOL. Yeah. It sucks being a collector though…Dunno why but I feel the need of owning each individual freakin’ compilation 😛
