Simslicious.tk has created a webapp for iPhone users that counts down to the release of The Sims 3. They have 3 versions availabe – American, British and Dutch. Best of all, they count down to the specific release date for that region.
To add it to your iPhone, just head on over to the site in the iPhone’s Safari browser. Then once you are in the app, click on the “+” icon at the bottom and it’ll give you an option to add the icon to your Home page. It’s a pretty neat idea, I’ve got it on my phone and now I’m going to stare at it everyday!

Not sure what options there are for the UK, but here in the US it’s AT&T
