For the regular visitors of this site, I would like to hear from you. Are you happy/unhappy with certain aspects of this site? Do you have improvements in mind, features you’d like to see added? I’m currently taking requests and would like to hear your thoughts for improving this site to make it easier for you. I can remove/add certain items, clean up certain areas…just about anything (but I don’t want to change the site layout – just make it better!) You make the calls, feel free to post your thoughts by dropping a comment!
Update of fixes/suggestions (thanks for the suggestions everyone!)
- Moved the Spore News from the SimPrograms homepage over to SporePrograms, keeping it separate
- Just thought I would toss a note up there that so far, a suggestion was made that I should create a poll. I think I’ll do just that. If you look on the sidebar, you’ll see this week’s question: “How would you rate MySims Party?“. I’ll make a note to update the poll every Sunday!
- I think I also fixed an error for Firefox users trying to leave a comment and getting a blank page. Turns out to be a conflicting plugin. Thanks for the suggestions and finds, I really do appreciate the help!
I think that the website is very, very good! I used snootysims.com every day for the past three years, but I wish I had known about SimPrograms! You have SO much info, and always find/post it first! This is a fantastic website, and I wouldn’t change a thing! 🙂

you guys are on top of your game. you have entries being posted almost everyday and its actual info that people would like to hear and sometimes theyre humorous. (like the apple laptop clickwheel from the onion). that was hilarious.

This is a great site — the first place I look for Sim / Maxis news (Snooty’s being the second). One suggestion would be the comment submission process — maybe it’s just my browser, but every time I make a comment I’m taken to a blank page. As for the April surprise… is it a YouTube vlog? 😉

I think the site is great the way it is. I usually don’t stop by here to often anymore because i receive updates from this site by RSS feed. Simprograms is my first stop for Sims news. The news is always well written and usually contains images, which is great. Keep up the great work Judhudson! 🙂

Jud, i really like ur site! Its great. Its simple, and down to the point. If i really had anything to add, id say possibly the layout, not where stuff is, but like the layout, how it looks. But keep it up cause simple can never fail
Surprise in April? Not another rickroll please. I remember being so upset when you fooled us almost a year ago. 🙁 But I do like your site a lot. I check this and Snooty’s almost every day and they are the only two I check as far as Sim news. Sometimes your updates are way too frequent to where after a few days of not checking, I’m way behind and have to click on several pages. But oh well, that doesn’t bother me. Thank you for your site! 🙂

Well, I think you should get rid of all the Spore news. It’s not exactly the most popular game out there and it’s not even part of the Sims label!
But other then that, you have a very good and well maintained site.

ON a very related note, did you make it so Spore news does not show on simprograms.com anymore?
And your site is very good, and you have one of the best sims news services on the net (and one of the best spore ones to).

Whoops.. I didn’t really have my intent about spore news right… I want it to stay, you are often the first out with the news.
Thanks for the suggestions so far! I took Snooty’s advice…well…just about. I removed the Spore news from SimPrograms so Sim fans won’t have to deal with reading it. All of the Spore-related news now shows up on the main page of SporePrograms for the Spore fans (plus, I doubt they want to read Sim news) so it’s a win-win for everyone 😀
I’ve mentioned this before, but I’d like to see more reviews by YOU. What do you think of the games that you provide links to. What are your favorite Sims/Spore strategies/experiments?
Well, for PC games…I could probably start doing that as I buy those. However, a majority of games that I cover also come out on the DS/Wii and other platforms. As much as I would love to play and review them, I just don’t have the funds to purchase a $49.99/$39.99/$29.99 game each time they come out – and for Wii/DS sim games, it’s often!
I wish it was possible for me to get review copies sent out from EA as other gaming sites do. I’ve emailed the PR people responsible for MySims / SimAnimals and so far, been left in the dust with no response. In fact, I’ve even contacted other EA employees from Spore/The Sims division. They do forward my email on to the proper contact, but then that is it…I’m back in the same place. I’m not sure if the reason has to do with owning a big-time gaming site…
I’ve considered renting but the places near me don’t stock DS games for renting, and the Wii games are very limited to what they think would be popular, thus leaving Sim games out (Although they do get them in…but it’s about 2 months after the release when they do) :/
PLEASE bring back Spore news to the SimPrograms.com homepage. I hate having it seperate, that’s why I merged it on my site.
It’s much easier to have them in all one place. 🙂
Well, I do appreciate the thought, but originally (a long time ago) I tried to implement the very same method of splitting Spore/Sim news into their own sections. At that time, I had a different theme and I couldn’t figure out how to pull it off with that theme’s code. Now that I brushed up on CSS/PHP skills, I am now able to split them into their own sections.
Personally, I think it serves a better purpose this way… That way those coming to SimPrograms can deal with Sim-news only, and those who are into Spore can get what they want. And for those who still want them merged together, I do believe the RSS feed takes care of that 😀

I check here almost everyday, the news is always written to a very high standard and some post give me a right good chuckle when you throw in a joke. Umm I honestly can’t think of anything that needs to be changed, maybe a new banner but the one you have is fine. Lol

I love your site the way it is, but if I had to change something, it would be the way you handle images in your news articles. It’s a bit annoying having to load up Flickr for every new image I want to look at. Maybe you could make it pop up in the modern way (loading up on the same page with animation), like some other sim fansites, or even simple pop-ups to the images would be good.
I will take a look at what flickr plugins are available to handle the gallery and consider your suggestion 😀
Alright, played around with about 8 different plugins dealing with flickr and trying to achieve the results. So far, no luck. I’ll keep messing around with it, but I don’t know if it’s going to be corrected anytime soon.
I really should get around to putting my website on my own server… It isn’t at the moment as i haven’t had enough time to organize everything. I’ll probably get around to it the next holidays.
I’m going to see if i can squeeze GA for my site with my Maxis contacts, and as i might be becoming the moderator of the GA forum on the US official forum 😉 I’ll also suggest some other sites (like this one) if they want to do that sort of thing.
Well now its going to be easier for me to find my spore news, so the change doesn’t really effect me to much. Through posts like this one should be on both the news channels.

Don’t worry, I do. All of the content comes from one WordPress setup – just split into categories. Twitter and RSS feeds will still grab news from everywhere I post 🙂
