Andrea Wendland, the community manager for the Sims posted an update at the official Sims 3 website‘s blog about the Creator’s Camp event that is currently being held at the studios. Here’s what she has to say:
Hi everyone,
My name is Andrea and I’m the Community Team Manager for The Sims 3. Part of my job is to make sure we have fun and exciting events for our fans and community members both online and here at our Redwood Shores campus. With that, I’m happy to officially announce the “The Sims 3 Creator’s Camp” which is happening here at our studio this week. I’m really excited to be working on this event and have been anxious to meet the community members who are here with us for the camp.
We’ve invited our top custom content creators to camp out with us for a week here on the ground with the development teams to get an exclusive look at The Sims 3 and be the first to create professional-looking content for the upcoming The Sims 3 Exchange. We’re excited to have some of the best House & Lot builders, Sim creators, interior designers, and machinima artists here with us for a full week of content creation. We also have some of our biggest fan sites out here to cover the event. Throughout the week we’ve been dining with the content creators, having competitions for the top creations, having a plumbob cookie decorating contest, and holding interviews. It’s been an exciting week and the uploads going into the new Exchange are fabulous. We can’t wait to start sharing their screenshots with you!
In early February, we’ll be posting more information on this event including a full list of the creators who attended the event, examples of the fantastic content they’ve created using The Sims 3 and links to our fansite write-ups.
Stay tuned for more info.
-Andrea
