Happy Birthday to Will Wright, Creator of The Sims & SimCity

Today – 20th January – is a very special day to all fans of Maxis and it’s games. It’s Will Wright’s birthday!

For those that don’t know, Will Wright founded Maxis with Jeff Braun and went on to design many favourites including SimCity, The Sims and Spore. Will Wright left Maxis and EA in 2009 and went on to found Stupid Fun Club, create a TV series called Bar Karma and now has another startup called Syntertainment (among other various projects). Interestingly, in 2011, he also became a board member of the popular virtual world Second Life.

Happy Birthday, Will. Thank you for your creativity and passion, as without you we wouldn’t have The Sims, SimCity, Spore and other Maxis favourites.
