With EA set to officially announce The Sims 4 Outdoor Retreat this Friday, we thought it’d be fun to check out everything we know so far about the upcoming game pack for The Sims 4. Information about this pack was first discovered after the Careers update.
A huge thanks to Sims Domination, Direct Sims and SimsVIP for information about Outdoor Retreat.
What Could a Game Pack Be?
This is not an official description of a game pack, but what I think it may be. I assume that a game pack is something in between a stuff pack/premium content set and an expansion. Since there is no ‘Sims 4 Store’ I highly imagine that Game Packs will replace Sims 3 Store sets and potentially stuff packs as they will deliver some new features and content but not as much as an expansion.
Outdoor Retreat Description
Take your Sims camping and explore the all-new destination of Granite Falls in The Sims 4 Outdoor Retreat!
Game Pack Features:
- Wander into an all-new destination
- Setup camp with tents, coolers and campfires
- Outfit your Sims in new hiking gear
- Enjoy unique outdoor activities
- Become a herbalist
New World ‘Granite Falls’
Outdoor Retreat will bring an all-new world for your Sims to explore called “Granite Falls”. Not very much is known about this world yet.

This all sounds amazing and I’m super excited for it! But I wish (and hope) that they are putting this much time and effort into perfect The Sims 4 for Mac!! I really wanna start playing the game and it’s pretty unfair! :/ Any updates on that?
Hi Tom,
No news on the Mac version yet other than that it is in development. I’ve been using bootcamp myself to play the game.
I think we can agree Sims 3 for Mac was not a good port at all as it wasn’t programmed from the ground-up for Mac, so here’s to hoping the time they’re taking is to make an awesome, stable port for us Mac folk that runs at equivalent performance to the windows version 🙂
