Whether you own The Sims 2 or not, you can redeem The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection for free on Origin until the 31st July!
The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection combines The Sims 2 base game, expansion packs and stuff packs into one convenient package and, until today, has only been available to those who owned The Sims 2 physically or digitally.
Follow these steps to get your free copy of The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection:
- Start by downloading and installing Origin. If you already have Origin you can skip to step 3.
- Not an Origin member? Create a free Origin Account to get in the game.
- Launch Origin and log into your Origin Account.
- From the ‘Games’ tab in the Origin menu, select ‘Redeem Product Code’ and enter the code

Remember that this is only available until the 31st July 2014, so redeem now!
Little note, it can also be activated from the Origin web store, in the account management page, without the need to download or launch the Origin client. I can’t tell the exact link because, even though I’ve set my language preference to English, the store just ignores it and uses my geographic location to (wrongly) guess which language I want.
Also, it’s only available for Windows 🙁 …. of course. When will us Mac owners get a break and have things be fair?!

I’ve downloaded it successfully, but It doesn’t start, I’m trying to play through origin in windows 8…is the game compatible with W8?
Try right-clicking the .exe in the game’s directory and selecting Troubleshoot Compatibility. I had a similar problem with MySims, but when I did that it worked beautifully.
