I normally post them if they’re sets, not something small like a piece of hair. Maybe we can have a link in THE SIMS >> The Sims 3 >> Daily Deals and it displays stuff from the daily deal category .. or something .. but i dont see the problem really unless it is something silly like a chair or hair – i dont track the daily deal loads, when i posted it most of the time it was a deal a day, or one or two a day.
Given they happen almost hourly, and people can find them easily on their own, I’m not really interested in doing this and find it a HUGE distraction that just drowns out or interrupts actual news.
Are we a fansite? Or are we an advertising body for EA products? There is a difference.
And I think this is the kind of discussion we should have in public so that the readership can chip in with their feelings. I could be totally off the mark.
No need for an apology Journey, it’s cool. It’s good if we have an idea of how to approach the DD, though. I would vote for Worlds + themed sales (like when they sold all the Future Shock stuff massively reduced for Lunar Lakes’ release).
As for the daily deal – what I was wishing to do was setup a script in a post to automatically pull it from the official site. Problem is, that would be way beyond what I’m capable of. So I decided to just ignore it.
Daily deals are okay – but only worth posting if its an awesome deal that Simmers should know about. I wouldn’t worry to much…On a personal opinion, I’d rather not support the EA Store/Buying Simpoints. But thats strictly my own opinion on that matter.
Daily Deal advertising is good – I did that but havent had time recently.

We do NOT need to start advertising every daily deal. Just for Worlds and *maybe* premium content. *Maybe*.

The problem is that this will clog up the site. Perhaps you could sticky a post that’ll be edited for each deal.
But sometimes they burn through 10 or so sets in one day, that’s the problem.
I’m truly sorry. I just posted this because it actually looked like a great deal.. especially for a set. I had no intention of posting them daily. 😉

I agree with you. Worlds are, of course, a bigger deal because you rarely see them on the DD. 😉
