Remember the other day, we told you about an article in the German magazine GameStar announcing SimCity 5? Well SimTimes has taken a pic of the SimCity 5 page in that issue. This is the first image of the new SimCity game seen by the public.

According to the article the builds can change purposes over time. Something I’ve been hoping for. Its all speculation at this point and the pictures really prove nothing at this point.
I’m just hoping that traditional SimCity gameplay is back. Societies sucked, and the closest thing we’ve had since SC4 is Deluxe on iPad.
You mean, “Hope it will be at least as good as Simcity 4 became.” We all know that Simcity fans did more for the improvement of that game than Maxis did. Let’s hope that it doesn’t go to waste in Simcity 5

EA should really concentrate on making a nerdy game, not a childish/toyish one. Otherwise, it won’t sell. The reason behind is pure and simple. Today, nerds from all ages, even as high as 75+ years, play computer games, whereas ten years ago the game market was primarily a youth market.

Really dissapointed with these screenshots, the graphics looks so childish, it doesnt look realistic at all. Cities XL has much better graphics and they look much more realistic. Just look at the bridge and cars, it looks like f***in Playdoh :O and those trees, one is a green gay looking cone, the other is a green ball put upon a stick 🙁
Another failure to launch, I rlly dont understand why some of you get excited by this. So far all features mentioned are already available in Cities XL 2012 and the graphics from Cities XL 2012 are much better. Stop dreaming for a new Simcity, go play the next standard in city sims: CXL 2012.
Also nowadays Cities XL is gettings loads of wonderful and gamechanging mods (full working and functional trams anyone?)
and with the modding tools you can create any kind or shape of building/model/… you want.
Imagine modding in this new SImcity with this placid graphics engine, have fun trying to recreate some realistic looking textures n models…
So far what I’ve seen it is definately not worth it. Try out CXL2012 instead peeps, wake up, Its much better! 🙂
@diScOpOlis – these are not in-game graphics but rather concept art. They’ve yet to shown what the game actually looks like.

First of all I have played CitiesXL and it sucks and I also played Simcity 4 and Simcity 3000 Unlimited they might be old, but its way better than CitiesXl (expect Simcity Societies).
In CitiesXl there are not a lot of buildings to choose from in the first place, the roads are hard to place and its REALLY ANNYONING ASS HELL, the game play isn’t that fun I got bored easily, the background music is an annoying loop, and speaking of cartoonish just look at the pedestrians in CitiesXl.
I believe is Simcity 5 that going it be the best city building game of century (I hope) and if you are a true city simulation fan would play what started it all…Simcity! oh and its run by Maxis…which its good.
Let’s wait to see what DRM-crap and microtransactional BS they use to ruin this one.
FINELLY HOPE! FOR SIMCITY5. and i still hope for driving in my own city like simcity4. Make it come true!
I have been a Simcity fan since the start. (kinda miss Simfarm and Simcopter) but maxis has yet to let me down with the graphics and gameplay leaps the Simcity series made all these years. The curve of the road Is good enough to convince me this version is going to be epic. Even if graphics do end up being a bit cheesy the sim population will make it way better after a few years of release anyway. They always do 🙂

I’m a huge fan of simcity 4 but the game itself was getting quite old on me. If simcity 5 is indeed true, I’d be the happiest little man in the world :X

I feel like a Slowpoke… I can’t believe it! It’s been 9 years since we saw SimCity 4, finally we’re having a successor. It makes me very happy! The leaked “trailer” was taken down by EA so it means it IS 100% real footage. I hope it gets released earlier…
