The Sims Movie Was Not Cancelled?

Nope! According to the infamous IMDB (Internet Movie Database), the movie is currently in production and scheduled for release in 2015… interesting. I wonder if it’ll do good or flop like other VG movies. Super Mario Bros. anyone?

Oh Jesus. This is a terrible idea. Hopefully by then I won’t have any time to play The Sims and therefore not worry about the embarrassment.

Oh my….what movie can be made with it? Bella, the search for aliens? Or the fall and rise of Sims 3?

I just wonder who the main characters will be. Bella and Mortimer or just random sims? lol

…a movie based off the sims games? I love the games but I cannot see a movie about them, what kind of plot would it even have? so having trouble wrapping my brain around the concept….odds are good it’ll flop as good as any video game to big screen movies…*coughs* resident evil comes to mind, all 4 of them….scared about the devil may cry flick due next year. Love that game too, just can’t see the movie being good…shoot em up w/ clive owen comes to mind…I am willing to admit I’ve watched that out of sheer bordem and morbid curiosity

I’m actually finding the reverse. The Sims 2 was more gender neutral, while 3 is much more aimed at tween girls.
As for the movie, don’t worry about it. Hollywood churns out alot of sludge, but they need to think they can make money off of it. Therefore it most likely will be cancelled.

I think this actually has potential.
Think about it. They’re going to target the movie at girls because more girls play the game. So it’s likely we’re going to be given a RomCom set in a virtual town.

Wsidi, that comes off a bit sexist to assume it’ll be a romantic comedy, or did you forget they (EA) are trying to target males as well? (Master Suite Stuff is their attempt to draw in male players)

Sorry if it came off sexist, and yes, I’ve noticed EA trying to please more males, especially in Ambitions, but let’s face it : More girls play the game. They’re going to take advantage of that (if it will even be made).

    The Black Scorpion,
Interesting? I wonder how much it will follow the game.

Good god we can only hope they do cancel it, appology accepted and yes traditionaly it’s attracted more female then male players. and yes TS3 is very geared toward tweens & teens. TS2 you could die of colds, flu & childbirth, TS3 is….fluffy by comparison.
