Amaze the Audience with Your Talents as a Magician or Singer in The Sims 3 Showtime

Become the star of the show in The Sims 3 Showtime. Perform tricks and sing your way to fame in Starlight Shores, an all-new world that showcases your Sims’ hidden talents as they go from small town heroes to larger than life performers.

As a magician, your Sim begins their career on the streets performing magic tricks for tips. They’ll visit new venues and meet with the owners to book larger gigs and gain experience. Magicians have unique social interactions that give them the ability to perform small-scale tricks on other Sims such as pulling a coin from an ear and making butterflies and doves magically appear. As magicians level up, they acquire new objects that can be used on-stage. For some magical fun, your Sims can use the Box of Mystery to perform the “swords of destiny” by carefully placing knives through the box without stabbing the Sim inside. Beware the Box of Danger! If a Sim fails at correctly executing their tricks with this object, death may come calling.
Singers are unique in the game as they can accept paying jobs such as performing singing telegrams to gain experience. Singing telegrams are also a social feature, and the types of jobs your Sims will receive will directly correlate to the happenings around town. If a Sim in town has just lost their job, cheer them up. If it’s a Sim’s birthday, sing them a song. Like the other careers, singers can also take their talents to the public performing for tips in parks and local hang-outs.  As singers progress, stage props, costumes and new songs will be unlocked to help them look the part and sing a variety of tunes. Singers will want to make it to the top to star in their very own big venue concert.
In addition, all careers – acrobat, magician and singer –will unlock special objects and outfits directly relating to that career. All outfits can be customised in Create a Sim to match the look of the venue and stage for your Sim’s performance. Also, all careers are able to participate in SimFest – a giant talent show for acrobats, magicians and singers to compete against one another in town. For Sims who particularly love a challenge, a new dual interaction is available in-game for Sims to compete against one another outside of SimFest.

Thanks to Ricon Del Simmer for the tip!

  1. Black Scorpion,
I also really like what I see in the third picture. I don’t know what else they’ll be adding but it looks like they might be adding another arcade machine. It might not be such a big deal to you guys, but I was getting tired of using the those three over and over again in my clubs.

It’s one of those older two player ones, it’s called a table cabinet. I love those. Some of the first ones like that played pong. Also, I know how you feel. I love stuff like that and gumball machines.

  3. I can’t see the picture, “ts3_showtime_feature_roll_out_singer_2” …. Just getting a bandwidth pony. Any chance you’d eliminate that dumb pony so it stops interfering with the images?

The more press releases EA put out for this EP, the more empty this EP sounds.

    Quoted For Truth.
This feels more like a large Stuff Pack than an EP. Though saying that Master Suite Stuff sounds more like a large Store Set than a Stuff Pack!
I think it might finally be the end of the Sims for us after 11 years!
EA are slowly changing what the game is about. They are making it more goal orientated and social/multi-player, rather than the open-ended simulation it used to be. I wish they’d go back to the old style of gameplay for The Sims 3 (and 4 when out) and bring out a new spin off game if they want to make other styles (as they’ve done with Life Stories/Medieval).
Oh well, I suppose everything must come to an end eventually…

The only reason why you’re seeing a pony pic instead of the actual pic is one of two reasons. Either you’re looking at it on another site and that site tried to hotlink to our pics, or you yourself is trying to hotlink our pics. That the ONLY way you’ll see that pony image.

  7. See, lol…Vegas style entertainment & stage magic. I admit it has some aspects that appeal, but it is sure to disappoint for the price charged. I also finally figured out EA’s target demographic: 9-15 yr olds… they really are pandering to kids, without realizing most kids get tired & bored of open ended games easily. they like games with empty goals & purpose. which is what S3 is being guided to. they are detaching alot of core fans with their new direction.

is that it? 3 new careers for the 6th EP?

Sorry, but yes….only 3 careers for the whole “awesome” EP. Because social features somehow took more than 13GB for the disk~
    @jesse james
Actually not all 9-15 loves goals & purpose games. It’s mostly EA FAILED TO REWARD US WHEN OUR SIMS COMPLETE SOMETHING.<-or should I say, wayyyy to easy. Remember how hard was it to be a 5-star celeb in Sims 1? Sims 3 LN? OH PLEASE….1 day is enough. The purpose of giving us the "real" feeling of goals and purpose is through the hard bricks, not sofas.

  9. orangecake,
Lol I know, everything was harder in TS1-2, tS 3 is way too easy, hence I shutter to see what other eps they come up with. The most challenging ep to date is WA. That & the stylist & archtecture careers of AMB…I must be doing something wrong there. WA had enough to explore to at least make you feel like you didnt get fleeced buying it. pity they don’t add vacation locales with each ep, like an amusement park would have been good for GEN, and virtual new orleans with late night, and they don’t have to all be adventure based.
