I gave in and bought it. I’m a sucker for magic and new ways to torture Sims.

I don’t have internet on my pc, the one I play sims on so even if I did buy simpoints, I can’t download. which is frustrating that the sims team didnt think about that, they just assume everyine has internet that plays the sims or what? I so want a freakin magic ep and it looks like I wont get one unless I borrow someone’s internet to buy store content….that is total crap. I got to ask TBS, how do the items look & play in game?

I dont like the cauldron. There is no way to keep track of the recipes and I did not see any change. Plus you cant save them. You drink them and they stay on the cauldron, plus the cauldron is missing animations.
Plus that thing lied to me. It told me you can make a recipe with a diamond, gold & black goldfish and I got nothing. I feel cheated.
Also the doll doesnt do much, no changes in the needs or anything to say that something happened, Im disapointed.

Why couldn’t they have included this stuff along with the Spell book in an expansion pack instead of having them be just store items?

With both the spell book and Hidden Springs installed, the animations for the 3 new items work just fine. 🙂 BTW, some hilarious new animations for all 3. Voodoo doll is my fav.

It’s funny really. A load of people comment on how EA are running the franchise into the ground. They threaten a community boycott of the Sims 3 and complain and moan on the official forums about how they’re treated.
Yet, as soon as EA put out a couple of new shinies, they drop those flags and pitchforks to queue up like diligent sheep to hand over even more money to them, merely reinforcing the belief that EA no doubt has that the fan base will bend over for anything.
This community quite frankly deserves what it gets.

Decorative and useless magic objects, it’s so boring.

    @uknortherner,
Oh right, so you have made a list of everyone who said they were boycotting the Sims Franchise?
I’ve decided that the Sims 3 Pets will be last Sims games I will ever buy unless it improves its content level- I don’t have problem with glitches and bugs because they can be fixed by Sims 3 team or by wonderful modders. I will not fall for these overpriced empty shell Sims store items/stuff pack/expansion pack stuff again. $22/£22?!?! That’s pricier than an expansion pack in the UK! As for Showtime, not purchasing it will be easy. That’s just me…
Saying goodbye to the franchise won’t be easy- I was there from the beginning and I purchased everything between Sims 1 to the end of Sims 2 (they were well priced, had decent levels of content/new interactions-not just decor- and I don’t remember anyone complaining about the price of an expansion pack either).
Despite this, I love this website so I won’t be giving it up anytime soon! 😀

TO UK Northerner: Ya know I got curious about that (Franchise destruction) and did some research, just as many fans complained about TS 1 & 2 bugs/glitches/content they didn’t get and so on. The Original Sims wasn’t so bad because it was the first of its kind, but everything after that has been under fire. The original team was better about bugs/glitches and problems, but they were a smaller company as maxis, in comparison EA is multi national mega corporation with thousands of studios world-wide. So responce time is slower and things get lost in the shuffle. But to be fair, just as many bitch/moan/complainers existed for TS2 & TS1 after the first EP released. What needs done is a large market and more games like the sims, not tycoon spin-offs, but nobody’s bothered so EA has a monopoly of the market. Competition is healthy for businesses too, which EA is first and fore-most.

There should be competitors for the sims..Then we can play with people without having to buy bad games. I also want a law that prohibitd the selling of game objects for money, without having a physical way to get them

  23. jesse james Reply

To Kelvin: I thought they needed laws prohibiting the sale of virtual items with real money when they had people buy virtual protperty for millions in real money a few years back. I’m thinking it was second life and someone paying several million to own a virtual island. Once companies seen how stupid people were, everyone was hawking virtual crap for actual money..hence this is why the sims 3 store exists to some extent. look at all the sites people sink real money into to buy non tangable items or features? Gaia online, IMVU, Facebook, and so on. It is an epidemic….and people caused it and perpetuate it, and complain about the monster they’ve made.

Will there ever be a fix between the spell book and the FOY from hidden Springs? Will there, EA?
