Petar Jadek has shared with me on Facebook two links for pre-orders available on Amazon.com. The first link is the standard Sims 3 Pets (PC) pre-order product page. Nothing too exciting about that except for an estimated release date of October 31st and that it’ll cost the standard price of $40. The second is for The Sims 3 Pets Special Edition. What’s so special about this version, I’m not sure…other then it appears to cost an extra $10, making it $50. Is this the version that comes with the Limited Edition Pet Shop? Will they include physical items for it (like the dog collar being given away at E3)? Details are unknown, but hopefully it’ll be announced in the coming months.

I’ve heard from someone over at the Sims forum that this is actually a mistake and that you really should only be able to pre order the limited edition and it should be the same price, but I’m not sure, since he wasn’t one of the simgurus. Anyway, we should check back in a bit to see if he was correct. I don’t want to pay extra for it, but I would like to know that that I am getting the limited edition, since I really want to be able to build those pet stores.
I’ll keep my eye out on the forum. I hope so – I can’t keep track of all of these so called special versions!

Thanks. Here’s the thread on the forum, where I first heard about it. The person who brought up the idea that its a mistake goes by the user name, “Goldmoldar.” Followed by two other people, after I replied to him.
