So the end is near for SimSocial. The online “game/app” gives you choices to select for different things and shows your status on the side. There’s a Sim Avi in the center of the screen that only blinks. Not fun at all. Farewell SimSocial, you shall not be missed.

Perhaps I am alone in this, but I have actually always found this to be more fun than TS3. I was hoping that EA would one day release it as a free download for those who do not like the ten minute waiting period. The Family Tree game for TS2 was downloadable, and I still have it on my computer—so why not release SimSocial as a free download?

Won’t be missed is right. I remember “playing” this for about five seconds, then closing it to never “play” it again. Not much in the way of gameplay.
I wonder if it’s actually possible for a developer to rip off his own games? (hint: SimSocial was developed by the same guy).
This was released before TS3, it was actually fun for like 1/2 an hour while we were just waiting for launch….
i liked it. it was fun as a small, like, mini-game thing.

First time I saw SimSocial I had the same reaction, but then I wondered if he was involved.. and indeed he was.
