I picked up on this email earlier this morning (thanks, Allison) of a new survey asking fans their interest on a few different things for an upcoming world that may make its way to The Sims 3 Store in the future. It’s quiet lengthy, so check the ‘read more’ to view the whole post.
A Haunted Library with Magical Spell Book at $15 – A truly spooktacular library built out with 10 exclusive Gothique items. This venue is all ready to be placed in the game for some chilling reads. The crown jewel of this library is the magical spell book that is exclusive to the venue.
Will your Sims use their magic for good or for evil?
Magical Fountain that reverses Sim aging at $35 – Discover a whole new world with new Sims to meet and items and clothing only found in this world.
Nestled amidst dramatic mountains, towering trees, and sweeping vistas this luxury spa town has old world charm and modern comforts. Also included is a hidden magical fountain that reverses aging.

The rich and famous can find only the best things in life in this exclusive town.
However as they frolic among nature and enjoy spa treatments they fall victim to the organized criminals who prey on the unsuspecting tourists. Will you be on the side of good and help clean up the town or advance the cause of evil criminal masterminds?
The healing waters and the mineral wealth of the town draw tourists as well as those interested in making money.
But all of this interest is threatening the balance of nature. Some fight to keep the forests undeveloped but will they cave to the pressures of industrialization and the lure of Simoleons? How will you manage the fortunes of this town?
Celebrities and the rich flock to this town in search of relaxation and escape from the mundane. Many cannot resist rumors of the seemingly miraculous powers that linger in the woods and waters. Some of the townsfolk who live in the woods are highly secretive and seem to have a pale green tinge to them. Is it really magic at work?

It appears this also made its way on to Sims 3 Gamer (with screens of the survey), gotta thank Sims Galore for pointing that out.
I loved all of it, but the fact that they want to add some of those features to the game though the store isn’t sitting too well with me. =/
Seems to be hinting at two possible themes. Magic and Vacation. Wish those in the UK could vote, the survey won’t work unless you’re in the US I believe. I hope it’s not all about the store, I’d much rather see this content in expansions, rather than in the store.
Wow! I wonder if I caused anything by doing my Poll….?? I did one on the Sims 3 website – this is very interesting but now I’m really concerned this will just be THEIR excuse at having a ‘Magical’ addition to the game. I really hope it isn’t. I want depth! I would like to to have this in an EP. Well, at least they are adding more interactive objects…..
Though I detest the Store with a passion, I confess that I would love it if they added a rock climbing wall and a wave machine.
I remember in TS1 that there were different animations for dancing to the different genres of music. I’ve missed that for ages.
I really would love to have magic back, but it doesn’t sound very complete or complex. (Much like the magic in TS2 Apartment Life.) Half of that stuff I can already achieve with debug mode on. But new animations…well, that’s quite a bit different.
I just want ALL of them!
I’m *really* in love with the Haunted Library concept. Thanks for the mention, btw.
EVERYTHING!!!
so this sounds like adding game features via the store and items in the store. so magic might return? and of those items first thing i saw was diving board. also vending machines and what’s that?… a deep fryer? oh yeah. interesting about magic and spells.
This is ridiculus.
They are taking some features from TS2 EPS and they are selling them again at the Store?
For example the Bird Watching animation is for sure from TS2 : Free Time.
Damn EA.,
All sounds great except for the historical stuff! I don’t know if anyone noticed but all of this stuff was just asked on the TS3 on the Community poll! See, every poll foreshadows something!
ampf!
Why does this has to be from the store?
They don’t even have simpoints around the world?
we don’t have a credit card, and even if we have, my mom won’t let me use it for online purchases…
I love everything in it… Why not just make an EP with all those items and I will surely get it…
🙁
You’re welcome JudHudson. I couldn’t fill out the e-mail fast enough.
I love all of these idea’s. I would much rather see them in an EP but I’ll take what I can get.
I made sure to include a lot of opinions in the survey. I hated the magic in ts2 but makin magic from ts1 is my favorite!
I just hope that whatever they do they don’t muck it up.
But if you think about it its perfect since its not an EP and only people that really want magic will get it. Doing it this way we could start getting themes that just arent EP material but that people want.
Yeah all of it would be great, and I’d love to have, it’s just that if it’s through the store, to be able to buy all that, would cost a fortune =/ If only they bundled all of it with the next expansion.
But, there is still going to be the issue that there are a lot of people who can’t buy from the store. Adding features like magic this way is going to make it so they cannot get those features.
I got an e-mail about this survey, but I didn’t get the money off they promised, so I was starting to think it’s some kind of scam, but as everyone else received it, maybe not, might just be a glitch, the code not working. The Pizza Parlour or the gym with a possible diving board sound amazing!! 😀
To be honest, this isn’t the Sims 1. This isn’t the Sims 2 with better graphics and create-a-style.
I don’t want them simply remaking all the EPs from either of those games. I want to see new EPs incorporated. If they simply remake all the things from the previous games that people keep asking for and shove them in EPs, then there will be no room for any TOTALLY new expansion packs. Putting stuff like this in the store allows only the people who really want magic (I couldn’t care less about it) to purchase it.
As for not being able to buy in the store because Simpoint cards are not sold in every country and they don’t have a credit or debit card, either they should a. give their money to someone with a credit/debit card and let them purchase it for them (especially if you are a teenager) or b. if you are an adult, you should at least have a debit and/or credit card anyway. Debit can be used virtually in any place that credit can. Or c. EA should provide another method of payment other than Simpoint cards or debit/credit cards, so that their content is actually accessible to people in every country.
To tell you the truth, this seems like a way to snub out modders. Things coming from EPs are easier to mod than things coming from the store. If they start selling stuff from the store exclusively, then amount of modding that would take place decreases.
Lol! they are asking for help from fans since their ideas are tre lamos. Thats a good move.

Or d. they could just wait for it on MATY and not have to spend anything.
Sounds good… but that’s just it… SOUNDS.
Id love magic in the game, but as someone already pointed out… just lopping it into 1 or 2 ‘enchanted’ items smells like a giant FAIL to me. Cheap shot at making the whiny kids on their forums happy.
If they want to add magic… do it PROPERLY! If they dont want a full EP with it, make it into a themed stuff pack. The stuff packs so far have been pretty unimaginative and lackluster.
They’ll keep trying to push their ‘store’ to take advantage of gullible folk as long as they can. Obviously they’ve not been making the killing they anticipated with it, thus the cheap shots they are taking by making much-coveted items exclusive to the store.
But that being said, it seems as though store items are way easier to crack and pirate than full EPs/SPs… at least the pirates will have it easier!
I would love anything which adds new animations. Except the rock climbing and bar-in-a-pool. My sims can already drink from a bar and not too many DIFFERENT stories I can make up about rock climbing.
How do I get to be sent these surveys? I checked my email, and I didn’t get one.
And, I certainly don’t mind paying for new animations and worlds. Being “honest” is not being “gullible” as the pathetically destitute players like to claim.
