One immediately striking difference to the previous Sims games is that you’re not able to play any Sim whenever you like – and you can’t change their job whenever you want either. Whatever class of Sim you pick – be it Monarch or Blacksmith, Wizard or Physician or whatever else you choose to play – that’s your job and you’re stuck with it. And you actually have a daily job to do – such as the Monarch meeting dignitaries, or the Physician healing sick patients (with leeches, of course – in fact there’s a leeching minigame, in which you need to get the blood metre down to a certain level. How wonderfully grotesque!). Each class also has a different storyline and quests available to it, such as a quest to find the fountain of Youth, and when you complete your daily duties or quests you will be regarded with new playable skills and Kingdom Points which can be used to buy new buildings for the Kingdom. These new buildings will also come with one or two new playable Sims, who each have their own jobs and quests to do – and so the kingdom grows!
