All of this keeps “The Sims 3” fresh, even a year after its PC release. But if you have the option and a powerful enough gaming rig, you’re still better off purchasing the computer version. EA Games has created a serviceable and almost likable control scheme for consoles, and a handy tutorial teaches you everything efficiently. But this still feels like a mouse-and-keyboard game, and it’s best played that way.
