Don’t have a credit card? Parents won’t let you use it online to buy things from The Sims 3 Store. Besides the $10 Sims Cash Card that you can find at Walmart as well as Best Buy, you can now find $20 EA Game Cards at your local Blockbuster movie store. Not limited to The Sims, you can use these cards for a number of products at the EA Store. Some may call this idea greedy, some may call it clever. Personally I think it’s stupid. No, not because EA is finding more ways to get people to use their store, but their pick of using Blockbuster…especially after the fact that they have announced that they have filed for bankruptcy this month.
Here’s hoping they’ll move these on to other stores. With Netflix being such a huge sucess, is there anyone out there that still uses Blockbuster for movies (guess its still useful to rent games, right)?
I doubt our Blockbuster would have them. It almost never gets any business and it looks really rundown. The signs are all completely faded to the point where it looks like it’s abandoned and the parking lot’s lines all are really faded too. I stopped going there a few years ago after their rental prices, especially for games got too high. I just go to Family Video. Yeah, I’m pretty sure our Blockbuster will be one of the stores that will close.
As for the cards, I guess they’re good for people who don’t have a credit card, want the store stuff and are too honest to pirate. The only cards like that I buy are the ones for the Playstation Store. Between our PS3 and PSPs, we go through a lot of those.
All of the Blockbusters around here closed months ago. I couldn’t tell you where the nearest open one is, if there are any.
why not Game Stop? they are everywhere! So sad EA marketing people… so sad.
I stopped at the local Blockerbuster store neaest to me and they didnt have any but they can be used in pogo for getting there gems
