Carl over at Carl’s Sims 3 Guides shared with me their latest Sims 3 challenge – The Immortal Dynasty Challenge.  I can’t say that I’m a hardcore player like the many fans that read this site – I’d love to take the time to participate in one but keeping up with this site and my personal life does not allow the time to do so!  Either way, I’m delighted to help Carl out any way I can, so if you love playing the game, try this challenge on for size

This is a stand-alone event, and not part of our tournament season. It’s a bit like the old legacy in that it’s multi-generational, only made from scratch, and not an imitation by any means. As you’ll see by looking at the rule set Metro created, it focuses on making a Dynasty where the firstborn of each generation will attain immortality upon aging up to Elder. The end goal is to gather all eight generations of firstborn. Throughout the challenge, players will create works of art (paintings, ice sculptures) of their firstborn throughout their life stages and eventually make a museum to show off the Dynasty. There’s a role-play element here, as only firstborn are allowed the life fruit and Ambrosia to sustain life, and only upon reaching Elder status and completing their Lifetime Wish and Career or Profession. Scoring is as simple as what week and day the player finishes. My forum administrator created a spreadsheet available at Google docs (linked at the end of the rules) to help players keep track of their Dynasty and what Lifetime Wishes, Careers, and Skills they’d maximized.

I’m sure this is going to be a hit, as it’ll be challenging yet allows players to work at their own pace. This one will be enjoyed by Simmers for years. It’s not necessary they be competitive but we will have a thread dedicated to it on the forum so that players who complete it can post their end date and share a picture of their Dynasty and museum.
