You are probably expecting me to rant and rave on how stupid the store is and will expect me to slam the following post. Well, I don’t think I am going to – not this time. Yes, I still agree the prices are on the high end, but for the most part I actually like the fact that The Sims Team is doing ‘branded content’ items for the game. Branded Content, you ask? Well, it’s basically real life items for your Sims game. They’ve just launched a new section in the Sims 3 Store which sells just that – siminized versions of real life products. I’m not too thrilled with any of the current downloads available – it appears they are just using bands/artists. But if they ever add anything to do with Weird Al, that’s SimPoints well worth spending! Thanks to SimsMX and WolfGurl685 for the tip!
The Sims 3 Team releases ‘Branded Content’ for the Sims 3 Store

This is the worst crap they could come up with. I’m only interested in Shakira and that content is not even good, a noob at texturing could do that.
Seriously? Now I’m not a hater of the store but this stuff is crap! Anyone seriously ANYONE with any knowledge of computers and the absolute basics of TSRW or S3PE could paste a picture onto an image except they don’t charge 3 dollars for it! This is hugely simple and easy and the fact that EA is charging more for what any noob CC maker could do in 5 minutes is just disgusting!
It’s that easy, eh? I tried my luck at it when the tools came out and well..things didn’t turn out too well. Not sure how much time has changed the process of patterns. I wish I had time for them like I had with the past games of The Sims and The Sims 2.
So, they expect us to literally pay for advertising now? Wow…
I think this could be a good idea! Well it could turn out horrible too but so far, its just ok! I agree and understand with what @Robodl95 is saying though! EA you HAVE to step it up! You’re a huge company with lots of money, you can roll out some better items than this! Come on, pay more attention to your best selling game! Hopefully they’ll listen and have some better stuff in the future!
My my… I wonder how many people will actually buy this…
Hey Judhudson, if they do Weird Al stuff, are you going to buy any sim points for it? Little disclaimer at the bottom says “To acquire these items you must have purchased SimPoints from The Sims 3 Store. You cannot solely use your promotional SimPoints on these items. Promotional SimPoints are points you received with purchase of a product or that were otherwise awarded free of charge.”
So, to get these, you’ve got to buy simpoints.
I’m still sitting on 2000 Simpoints that I’ve yet to spend. So I’ll eventually have to use them up one way or another 😛
Sorry Jud, you gotta read the fine print…

RothChild,
I had to put that to the test. It may say that, but I was able to use 300 of my SimPoints (that came with the games) to download and install the KISS set. So it should work no matter how you got the points 🙂
I’m not a fan of any of them. I’m actually surprised there’s no Lady Gaga set. They could make tons off that since for some reason I don’t understand, she has a huge amount of fans. Plus, almost anyone could make those. Not worth the money.
Glad to hear it worked. I guess that was just a bluff to try and get people to buy points.
