Well, good news. A house in my neighborhood has popped up on the market and after checking it out, the style and funds both match what I am looking for 🙂 So I’m in the process of talking with the Realtor and by tomorrow, should be able to negotiate a contract. The asking price is $57,500 but I’m going to try to talk them down to $54,000 + all closing expenses.
I don’t happen to have any pictures of the house on me at this moment…I’ll snap some tomorrow if weather will let me.
Other news – the site. Not sure what the status is on our new servers. Supposedly now they said we’ll be moved to the new servers this week, but I highly doubt it. We (SimPrograms and WorldSims / UEOM) may wind up having to buy our own servers…and if that does happen, then I’ll probably wind up putting a donation button strictly to cover the site’s costs.
So yeah…real life is getting crazy at the moment, so I do apologize for lack of updates and outdated pages.

About the site – If you’re interested in moving to a different host, ‘Host Gator’ provides cheap hosting with unlimited disk space, unlimited bandwidth and a free transfer (It’s who I’m hosted with right now and I’ve not had any major problems in the past) – Much cheaper than buying a dedicated server.
I’d like the offer, but I’m extremely paranoid when it comes to those kind of hosting sites…because I was once down that road before…unlimited only means up to a certain point until you get too big (popular) and they’ll want you to pay for a dedicated server.
Ahh right okay 😉 Well I hope that your host moves you to the new servers soon, because dedicated servers are expensive.

maybe You don’t remember me, I wrote You once and asked Your help in connection with hosting problems. I have a Hungarian Sims community site. We choosed HostGator too and I’m really satisfied with them. Yeah, unlimited never means really unlimited, that’s why we have a reseller hosting plan now. There You can see with how much space and bandwidth You can calculate monthly. According to the prices here in Hungary it’s really cheap (and much cheaper than dedicated servers). I don’t know how much space or bandwidth You use currently, but if You decide to move, You should look at their offer. As Jonny wrote, they transfer Your site free, and their support is just awesome. 🙂

The limitations for Host Gator’s unlimited shared server plans are:
– A maximum of 250,000 inodes (Number of files and folders) – This is tons anyway.
– Maximum of 25 processes at a time – 500 error otherwise.
– Not allowed to exceed 25% of servers RAM or CPU for longer than 90 seconds at a time.
So far I’ve used:
– 32.9GB HDD Space.
– 294.05GB bandwidth this month.
It’s all pretty fair and it’s what I recommend if the host you’re currently on doesn’t get their rear in gear lol 😛
