Cool! I wonder if they’ll add racing oportunities! It would be so cool to race an edurance in Sunset Valley!
It looks good if it’s really full-featured. But if it’s anything like the first SP, it won’t be worth the price tag. There just weren’t enough objects to justify it.
So far, I’m not impressed. Cars just aren’t as important to me in TS3 as they were in TS2. I usually don’t even bother buying my sims cars. Now if the pack adds proper car animations, then that’s different. I just want the TS2 car animations back (pulling in and out of a driveway, opening the door and getting in and out of the car instead of teleporting out of it, leaving the car parked on the street when you visit a business, etc.) and I want the TS2 options like being able to sit and listen to music, make out and woohoo in the cars.
If it ends up being anything like HELS, it will probably contain everything you see in the pictures here plus a only a few other items that you will probably never even use.
It’s very cool for an idea and I like it, but I agree that it’d be even cooler with the missing animations, especially the interactions inside the car. I missed when they can sit inside and hang out. Imagine the moodlets that they can receive. I also think that they should have an auto-related career and even an auto shop in which your cars can receive a tune-up or oil change for a moodlet (much like the new laundry system where it is optional and just for moodlets). A gas station could be cool, too.
When dealing with animations, at most, we could only ever get the ability to open the doors and get in, it isn’t possible for them to make cars back up and off the lot. Lots on The Sims 2 had to be placed on the road, and the road was part of the lot. In The Sims 3, it is no longer that way, lots can be at any angle and in almost any part of town, regardless if there is a road or not. And if they did bring back the backing up off the lot animations, how would they handle cars that are parked behind a ton of trees, lots that aren’t anywhere near the road, or best yet, cars that are not sitting at ground level?
Correct.. above post… I personally love the SP. I love HELS, although I still haven’t got it, i bought Ambi first… Anyway, I’ll be getting this SP. I don’ care about anything, as long as it has SIMS in it’s name… sounds stupid, but I love the sims…
I totally agree with Nate .
That’s the problem, this SP looks pretty good to me personally (Don’t ever use cars but as a builder it’s nice to have things to put in garages) however like HELS I’m sure that the objects that they show in these pictures are nearly all we get in their respective themes
Even if the backing out animations can’t be used, it still doesn’t mean they can’t add animations of the sims getting in/out of the cars. They could also add the options to sit in the car while it’s parked and listen to music or if with another sim, makeout or woohoo.
I agree with that ShortyBoo, I doubt teleporting a car with a sim already in it to the street would be any different than what we see now. Allowing sims to to just sit in the car and do things like we could in Sims 2 would make the value of owning a car much higher. Well that, and making it so sims will elect to take their personal car over the taxi service and carpool. Whats the point of owning a car if they are only going to take the carpool?
Oh, and they should make it so that if the sim is already at work, the carpool doesn’t show up. I”ll have sims go in to work an hour early to make some extra money, and the damn carpool still shows up honking for a full hour.
I agree with ShortyBoo, too. We could still get the open/close doors animation and the inside functionality of the cars.
I also agree that cars are almost pointless when a taxi or carpool is always available, which is why the carpool should not come if you select to use your car. It makes no sense.
if they add animations then it will be helpful in machinima making!
but its a stuff pack why will it add animations?
