Yea, I was suck and got bored so I decided to make it look like that, it’s actually kind of neat because I can still basically control everything using that, (and the windows that it opens)
Connor, did you not read the very first sentence… “I know that this is completely unrelated but because of Apple’s recent activity I felt like adding this”
Eh, not technically his blog but he is welcome to post what he likes as long as I agree to it – and I don’t see any problem with it.
However, it is *my* personal blog, and if I feel like making a personal post I am allowed to as I pleased. I used it as one in 2007 when I first switched over to WordPress. Hadn’t posted anything personal in a while but when I feel there is a need to, I will 🙂
I say if you want to go for it, it’s not like they are boring posts. And Connor, what does that was, 5s looking and the title and going “next”. Wow, pretty time consuming.
Also this is a really great source of news, it grabs all the best articles from all the best sites and puts them in one neat place for us all to read, keep up the awesome work 🙂
These posts are rather pointless (and to some; stupid)– why post them? You will only make this site seem like less of a reliable site and more like some random blogger with nothing else to do with their time. 😛 Sorry to be blunt, but truth has no opinion.
I’m not saying this isn’t an amazing site. But “JohnBigOz” it isn’t his. Jud makes some amazing posts but it’s pointless ones like this which just make it look stupid.
Keep up the good work Jud by all means 🙂
To be honest, most of his posts have nothing to do with The Sims and if they do, are mostly fake articles. Most of his other posts are incorrectly reporting birthdays or hackings or promoting his own content. In my opinion, he doesn’t contribute much to this site and only pushes the valuable content further down the page.
I think it’s fine, After all it’s their site and they can do what they want with it, I rather enjoy some of the random posts some times, This is the first time I’ve heard of this idesktop thing and so even if it isn’t directly sim related it’s still news
That being said I could of used some more details here as all you said was apple announced this new thing with an image, not even a link
But wow some people got up on the wrong side of the bed 😉
Oh great, this thing all over again (you’ll know what I’m talking about if you look at the site constantly)
@Connor, I know this has nothing to do with the sims and I even addressed this in my first sentence, If you did not want to read something unrelated to the sims than you could’ve moved on after that, there is no need to comment on it, also, that stuff about “incorrectly reporting birthdays and hackings” , for the birthday thing I have already addressed this numerous times, It was correct for it being at this URL, also, the hacking thing was an April Fool’s Day Joke that I was not informed about previously. And lastly “promoting my own content”, I have posted neighborhoods that I have created before and so has Jud, so apparently there is no problem with it, and when I posted a lot it was themed to the Site’s colors, so none of these “have nothing to do with The Sims”. In my opinion these little posts make the site a bit more personal, as Jud has stated, he finds no problem with it, and we have both stated before that this is not a self-proclaimed “professional news site”. So please don’t say that I do not contribute to the sit because I find it extremely rude. That is my take on the matter.
@Robodl95, I agree with you, and it was meant to be a joke because of Apple’s recent activity with the iPad and iPhone OS 4.0, basically what would be created if Apple took over PC’s.
But Apple already HAS computers, and they’re very successful and useful 😛 Hence the “stupid post”; If you insist on trying to make the site more personal, why not change the name from Simprograms to something else? o_O
@Simplicity, SimProgram’s been around for about 10 years, started off as my personal site for rambling and to hold my few programs for The Sims 1 😛 I’d never change the name. 😉
I think it looks pretty cool, but I’m a neat freak and have zero icons on my desktop haha. Great idea though.
And about all these comments. Are they really necessary? Yes this site is primarily a Sims news site, but I don’t see the harm in them posting a few, more random, articles. They can do what they like with their site. If you don’t like it, then move along I guess.
It’s when these people get outside that even more problems start. Either that or they hyperventilate and have to get back indoors quickly! “I almost breathed clean oxygen!” XD
@AA, lol, yea
@Connor, if you don’t like a post, move on, there’s no need to get people riled up for no reason, If you don’t like the post, don’t comment
I see. ^_^ To AA, I’m posting because I am not necessarily “worried”, however I am concerned for this site, for I greatly enjoy many of the posts. It is fine to have a rare “random post” on a scarce level, but too much and this site becomes unreliable and as average as many blogs out there. I’m honestly not trying to troll, if that’s what you are thinking. 🙂 The picture was wonderfully put together; I congratulate the creator of it, however I am merely concerned for the credibility and professionalism of this site regarding material that is posted. 😀 I understand people like to have a good laugh once in awhile; but if it’s on a Sims site, maybe it should BE about Sims… or at least EA ^^; I mean if people were wanting random humor they’d go to Failblog or joke sites. 😀 Again; on a scarce level this isn’t any problem– just try not to do it TOO much. 🙂
But at the end of the day, it is Jud’s site and he sets the rules. I personally try to stay away from posting news that are not Sims-related but that is just my opinion/preference. If I don’t like the post from whomever, I just move on to the next. Like my last post about the magic skill at MTS, I felt that was a necessary post simply because it was to let Simmers know that custom skills were in the works and because many Simmers love magic. But as long as Jud doesn’t mind Luke’s posts, there really isn’t anything that can be done about that. I just hope that we can stop fighting about this. This site has always been a very friendly and positive one, for the most part. I hope we can keep it that way. We can debate without fighting. 🙂
Connor, just so that we’re clear, I wasn’t necessarily agreeing with you but I wasn’t necessarily agreeing with anyone or anything. I am neutral, simply because it is not my site. I still thank you for not going on a rampage and cussing up a storm like past users have. As long as we all get along, things should be fine.
Isn’t that just windows? Looks like Stardock Object Dock, and I guess the other stuff would just be icons.
Yea, I was suck and got bored so I decided to make it look like that, it’s actually kind of neat because I can still basically control everything using that, (and the windows that it opens)
looks like the computer version of the iphone
huh
TBH it just looks like someone rotated the iPad
Huh? What has this got to do with The Sims? This isn’t your personal blog you know.
Connor, did you not read the very first sentence… “I know that this is completely unrelated but because of Apple’s recent activity I felt like adding this”
But still, why? This isn’t a personal blog for him, it’s a sims site and it’s just these stupid personal posts which just waste my time on this site.
Eh, not technically his blog but he is welcome to post what he likes as long as I agree to it – and I don’t see any problem with it.

I think it’s fine…
Besides if I didn’t see this post I would never know about iPhone OS 4, I would know eventually, but much later…
But Adobe Illustrator for the iPad, ha ha! That’s funny and I don’t think it will happen that soon!
🙂
Connor, this is HIS website and he’ll post WHATEVEr he wants….
It’s their blog not yours.
they can post whatever they want.
I’m loving all the controversy over this post. And I totally agree, their blog, their rules 🙂
I’m not saying this isn’t an amazing site. But “JohnBigOz” it isn’t his. Jud makes some amazing posts but it’s pointless ones like this which just make it look stupid.

Just reading “Simplicity”‘s comment sums it up right. This is a reliable source for news but stupid, pointless posts like this just bring it down.
To be honest, most of his posts have nothing to do with The Sims and if they do, are mostly fake articles. and yes, it was in fact created using ObjectDock
I like Luke’s posts…they’re great for generating a little “heated discussion”! lol
Connor strikes again eh? It’s getting kinda old now…
@AA it was someone else that did it to one of my posts before, unless you’re talking about something else
But Apple already HAS computers, and they’re very successful and useful 😛 Hence the “stupid post”; If you insist on trying to make the site more personal, why not change the name from Simprograms to something else? o_O

Yeah lol. This post isn’t even funny or anything.
Then why are you still posting comments about it? It’s almost as if you’re worried about something.
I think it looks pretty cool, but I’m a neat freak and have zero icons on my desktop haha. Great idea though.

Methinks a lot of people here need to get outside more… I’m just sayin.
It’s when these people get outside that even more problems start. Either that or they hyperventilate and have to get back indoors quickly! “I almost breathed clean oxygen!” XD

Oh wow I feel so extremely stupid right now *facepalm facepalm*
(Goes away to my own dark dark corner :P)

Yep Frankie, it’s Jud’s site 🙂

U guys are so stupid arguing over that it isn’t related to The Sims that u haven’t realized that your not talking about The Sims. :b
