Anyone familiar with the EA/Mythic Entertainment game Warhammer Online? If you are, you’ll know that you have to pay a monthly fee of $15. EA controls the billing of the credit card transaction, hence why I’m posting this as news. It appears that the past few days, many users have been charged up to $300 and more due to a glitch in EA’s payment system. Kotaku provides the full details, I suggest taking a look at their article.
EA is aware of the issue, and released the following statement:
We have confirmed with our vendor that players who have been charged multiple times for their subscriptions should start seeing a reversal of charges within 24-36 hours. We anticipate that once the charges have been reversed, any fees that have been incurred should be refunded as well.
Yeah…this sucks. Especially those whose bank accounts don’t have the money to cover it all, getting overdraft fees – even some report that their checks bounced! That, my friend, is why I will not give EA my credit card information for any games. Sure, mistakes happen. But when you’re dealing with money, it’s a mistake that should never have been made!

before dealing with ea u should think not twice but 10 times that ur dealing with EA! 😀 lol
Lol, sounds like somebody who runs TSR is running this, too. They’re famous for overbilling as well. Great minds think alike, lol, lol!
“But they didn’t mean to, honest to God, it was just a mistake, give them a chance, please!” Or so says your typical fanboy/fangirl. *rolls eyes* Thank God I never used my card for anything EA-related. I smell lawsuits now. 😉
