I don’t even know why I bother to waste a post on this over the fact on how ridiculous I think this is… :/
New Goodies have arrived at The Sims 3 Store! Collect the new sports & nature themed avatar backgrounds, My Page stickers, and unique badges.
I remember the days where people could use the avatar creation feature on TS2.com to create their avatars…for free.
To each their own I guess. Personally I wouldn’t both paying to get this sort of stuff, especially considering people can actually make their own avatars on the site through other methods anyway.
SERIOUSLY….EA needs to get their act together!!!! I’m sick of Sims 3. I’m sick of how boring it is, I’m sick of the lack of content, I’m sick of the store, I’m sick of bullcrap like this!!!!! You shouldn’t have to buy backgrounds for your page! That’s INSANE!!!!!
I hope in Sims 4, they go back to their roots and stop trying to do EVERYTHING they can to get us to pay them.
Jesus…next they’ll be charging us to upload stuff.
@Phil, careful, if they read your comment they’ll probably be like “Hey, that’s a great idea!”
LOL ur probably Wright!!!
get it….wright??? 😀
HAHAHA you’re so punny
It’s indeed nauseating, but what can we do? I do miss the old days of things before the greed took over. When will a Sims alternative ever be created? That’d be the only way for EA to quit the excessive milking. I don’t mind a million EP’s and I actually don’t mind SP’s either, but that’s it. Leave it at that. Actually, Sims 1 didn’t even have to rely on SP’s and look at how successful it became. EP’s were fine on their own.
It honestly does surprise me that no other companies have tried to make a well funded and developed competitor to The Sims. I’m talking about a direct competitor — a clone with it’s own style. It’s been ten years now.
I hate to sound like some EA Cheerleader, but honestly– don’t you think there is something beyond this going on? I mean REALLY: No other company has even attempted making a direct competition to Sims, and I’m wondering if it’s because it’s so expensive to make a game like the Sims that other companies doubt they could do this as successfully as EA. Again, I’m wondering if the expense of making this game also has forced EA to charge for things like this to try to get a little more income; you yourselves said that Sims 2 didn’t do this, probably because it’s cheaper to make Sims 2. I could be completely wrong about this, or I could be completely right, but either way it’s best to keep an open mind rather than just point fingers. 😀
Well, wondering why there aren’t any direct competitors isn’t exactly pointing fingers. Just trivial curiosity. Of course games are expensive to make, but EA isn’t the only company with deep pockets. I love The Sims, including Sims 3, and would also find it fun to see another take on the genre.
