Keep your cool, Jud…You’ve done pretty good on not bashing The Sims Store for awhile…just because the items below are outrageous doesn’t mean I need to go bats**t insane right now! *ahem* …If you purchase SimPoints for the month of April, you have a chance at picking up any of the free items below. That’s all I’m going to say…going to keep the bad comments to myself *struggle*.
I send along my thanks to Kesha for mentioning this!
I’m even madder than you, Jud. Know why? I bought Sim Points like, oh let’s say, a couple hours before they offered these. Pretty smart of them to offer free items with purchase AFTER they offer new sets at the store, right?
*sigh*
I’m sorry, but for $40, it should be a truly spectacular item that will tempt you to spend that much money, like a complete set. Out of three, I think the cheapest item is the better one. But still not worth the 4k pts. Whatever.
Ugh, all these simpoint free items are a rip off. I mean seriously? $20 freaking dollars and all you get is a LAMP? Much less 40 for a pathetic outfit. The statue is kind of nice, though, and I need more points anyway. Might as well at least get that one.
Jud. Careful and calm criticism is an important part of reporting. Anyone who complains when you criticise EA is totally out of line, and I think you should do *fairly* but also *freely*.
Please don’t hold back in the future.
Are you forgetting the 4,000 SimPoints you get for $40? You don’t just get one item for $40
Connor. Have you noticed just how ridiculously expensive 4000 simpoints for $40 works out to be in real terms. People would have to spend many times what the game itself is worth to gain just a few sets. These are NOT microtransactions. They are absolute ripoffs. A ‘free’ item doesn’t change that fact.
Connor, please spare us the fanboyism. It doesn’t fly with some of us, especially when you get so uptight about our complaints. The more fans that give into this crap, the more EA takes advantage. It’s all a rip off and knowing how these fans are, they’d probably purchase a block of coal for $100. After all, they already glorify everything else. We will complain to our heart’s content because if we never do, EA will just become worse. Thanks to the complaints, EA somewhat leaned away from Securom (not completely, of course). Our complaints have helped swayed things here and there, believe it or not. We are the customers and we should always receive excellent customer service. Even Payless treats customers better. It’s still customer service. Many die-hard fans would never complain because they enjoy getting [insert vulgar verb + location here]. It’s very sad that people will put up with anything and when they come across issues, they brush it off because they never dare to have the courage to believe that they’ve been wronged. “Oh, EA would never wrong me. It’s just my poor vision that sees this game I bought three times on my receipt.” Ugh. It’s one thing being a fan, it’s another thing being a sheep. So if you don’t enjoy us complaining, tough luck. You can spew your fanboyism and we can spew our complaints. Besides, this is Jud’s site, he say whatever the hell he pleases. It’s not like he and EA shake hands, anyway.
when i started adding up all the stuff i would consider get from the store, I realized I’d be spending almost doubled more on a couple of things than I spent buying my own game, which was the “collector’s edition”.
it’s just frustrating……and the fact people actually buy these big ticket items makes it all worth while for EA to keep charging the price.
i don’t know, i couldn’t play the sims2 long enough to see how bad the store could end up, so i didn’t think it would be so bad, and some things don’t seem too shabby…..but overall, it needs a big price makeover.
That’s exactly what it needs, is a price makeover. 🙂
