I need to hear your answer to the question, from many of you – possibly every single person who reads this so I can make a decision by the end of the day. As you know, the patches for The Sims 3 are huge in terms of file size…I keep running out of space from my host provider each time I upload all 5 versions of the patch. So, in order for me to continue hosting patches, I need to remove the ones that are not being used.
With that being said, there are 5 versions of the patch which corresponds to the various regions in the world. I can’t remember what regions they map up to, but I’ve seen the information before. I need to hear from you which digits your game ends with. Please list the last three numbers of your game’s version so I can keep tally and help me decide whether I should remove a few patches from the site, freeing up space on the server.
The various patch versions are:

If I were going to remove any patches, it’ll be 003 and 005 for all games. It is possible I can find alternative links for those, but more than likely I won’t be able to host them myself.

I think what I may do is use the links to the patches from the official EA servers, and when they decide to yank them, then I’ll upload them. I suppose that would be the best way to handle things.

Haha, well I think I share with about 2,000 others. It’s not a dedicated server, it’s only $6.95/month and it’s well equipped enough to support a downloads site 🙂
For the Base Game and World Adventures here in the UK, the version ends in 002. But for High End Loft Stuff it ends in 001.
Can you not just link to the direct download from EA? E.g.

In Portugal it’s 002, except for HELS (001).
I use 002 and 001 since I have one digital (pirated) back-up copy and one official bought copy from the US.

Im in the UK and it ends with 001.
I think that after High-End Loft Stuff was release, the UK switched from 002.
Could you not remove them to an off-site host like Mediafire or Megaupload?
Not really a fan of either of those. We should be getting new servers in June, so hopefully once those are up and running I can restore the patches back on the site!

Maybe you can put (some) of the patches on mediafire? (Free accounts can upload files that are up to 200MB in size and I think you don’t need to register an account to be able to upload files?)
