I received word a few moments ago from SimPlanet2 in which they contacted the headquarters of the retail giant Bart Smit to see about the rumored expansion pack “The Sims 3 Hobbies & Professions“. Turns out that the name is indeed on the list with the same name along with the release date of June 4, 2010. However, the list changes weekly and of course, the game could either be dropped or have a name change in the meantime.
Personally my feelings for this makes me hope this isn’t what we’re getting for our next expansion…but I guess I should wait and see for either another listing or more proof. Perhaps we’ll know for sure what the next expansion is when The Sims 3 High End Stuff is released next week.
if its gonna be released on or near my birthday, it better have a dog and a piano…and that’s all I have to say about that.

Omg, this is hilarious. EA absolutely fails beyond belief at making names for expansions and stuff packs! Like, High End Loft Stuff…. what in the world is that. Now we may possibly have Hobbies & Professions, you gotta be kidding.
Now, if this -is- the next expansion I’ll only buy it if it has the following:
1. Weather… where the heck did that dissapear off to?
2. Actual community locations, bowling, restaurants, discos, SHOPS, not rabbitholes, there is NOTHING to do in The Sims 3.
3. Some sort of Superstar aspect <- Best expansion ever! Along with Makin' Magic 🙂
I can't think of any other conditions at the moment, but if this expansion misses those core aspects then EA are real jackasses.

Oh and one more thing!! I’m LOVING the release date of Sims 3 games, The Sims 3 was released on June 4… my birthday and if this trend follows and the expansion is released on June 4, awesome, my birthday again! 🙂
Hahaha….My birthday is on June 5th so happy birthday to me! But I don’t think it’ll be June 4th as that would be a Friday. If anything it could be June 1st here in the States as game releases are on Tuesdays. Then other regions will follow thru the week leading to June 4th.
We’d rather it was::
1) We’ve had (World Adventures).
2) Weather & Pets
3) Leisure & Luxury (sunbathing vacations, cinemas, fun fairs, etc.)
4) Hobbies & Professions (as in Open for business, Hobby clubs, etc.)
5) Crime & Punishment (Police, Courts, Prison, Juvi, asylums, etc.)
6) Education(Schools, Colleges, Universities, etc.)
7) The Haves and The Have Nots (Banks, Homeless shelters, credit cards, etc.)

Oh, I kinda like it. I mean, if they don’t turn this pack into some stupid RPG wannabe like World Adventures (WORST EX. PACK EVER!! Even worst than Vacation for TS1 and University for TS2.).
If anyone hasn’t noticed, it follows exactly the last packs for TS2, Bon Voyage & Hobbies. Well, let’s hope the 3rd is weather and apartments. 😀
This could be exciting…. I was personally hoping for weather or pets however my sims are fairly bored and it would be very nice to have more skills and things for them to do…..

Actually, it’s not quite backwards. BV was EP 6 and FT was EP 7. It’s more like random at this point. WA is the first, which should have been the second if it were going backwards. Actually, no, if we had AL, then WA should have been the third EP. Regardless, this sounds like a very fun EP because I want my Sims to have something to do and I really hope EA adds a nightclub and piano. 🙂

Wait, let me get this right. The EADM problem is still in full force, you should see the amount of people asking for help on this issue, it’s beyond belief. And yet…and yet they are now announcing an expansion pack?

Looks like EP’s for Sims 3 will be released roughly around June and November of each year. 🙂
err…there is another reason for FTW to mean bad…but i won’t be writin it out cuz idk if they ment that and it’s not very nice…
We shall see what happens after the release of the first SP. Maybe the leaflet will give more info on the new EP? 🙂 I know… wishful thinking.
If hobbies is on the list that;s great, but you can’t forget there are hobbies that depend on weather and/or pets. Not that it would be in the game but for example horseback rideing or ice skating.
Have to agree with Flabaliki, we need some sort of nightlife EP before anything else, I’m going crazy trying to get my young sims to meet people and get into relationships.

Exactly! The social interaction in Sims 3 is PATHETIC. It seems like they’re releasing EPs in the exact opposite order that they should be. We need basics first.
Since we don’t have aliens, I think they will release 10 expansion packs, in this order and themes:
1) World Adventures (Mummy)
2) Ambitions (Servo)
3) Something like Nightlife (Vampire [They already exists in the mobile])
4) Something like Open for Business (Genie, since Servos are in Ambitions)
5) Something with the Cosmus (Alien)
6) Something like University (Zombie)
7) Something like Pets (Werewolf)
8) Something like Seasons (Plantsim)
9) Something like Apartment Life (Witch)
10) Something like Super Star (Big Foot?)

Wow! The Sims 3 ambitions looks really cool! I like the ghost hunting thing. What has always bothered me is that while the adults go to work and the kids go to school, I have nothing to do but wait. You can control their actions while they are at work? EPIC!!!!!! I wonder if we will be able to control kids while they are at school…I’d really like that…
BTW, I saw a Servo in the background of one of the pictures! YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i think they need to come up with some new ideas. theyre just going to recycle the old ones and all of us are going to blow our money on them. AGAIN. of course im probably being hypocritical because no doubt im going to go out and buy all of them anyway….we really need a makin magic pack i think.
