This is the next poll asking you about your experience with the CAW tool. I have read multiple complaints that the test in-game feature is not working, this is also what I thought at first, but after leaving the computer alone for about 5-6 minutes it was finally loaded and worked well. If you have a slower computer (mine is really fast) it will probably take a little longer. Hope this helps all of you!
*CORRECTION* It takes me 15-20 minutes, but this is after having placed lots and nearly completed the neighborhood (It’s the small size, so my guess for a large neighborhood would be around 30 minutes without details and around 60-90 minutes with all the little details and lots added, just an estimate not a fact)
My only problem is that I can’t place the City Hall or other community place: my game closes when loading that huge “lots catalog”
My suggestion for you (Juan) would to backup that file, sorry i don’t know which one, and then delete some of the lots from the lot bin. Hope this helps, good luck!
The CAW tool is great! I haven’t had a single issue, not even with the Test In Game feature, that loads in about 30s for me, like fully loaded in neighborhood view, I guess I’ve just lucked out with my entire experience with The Sims 3 because I’ve never had any of the common problems people experience all the time
I would say I have a pretty fast computer, I get can from my launcher to the game in about 5 minutes however I have not ever been able to acess Edit in game, I’ve waited about 50 minutes even though I’ve heard of people waiting for 2 hours! That’s ridiculous
So that explains it, thank you Luke! I made an island and when I tried to edit it in game to see what it looks like it seems like the game stopped loading…now I know to let it load longer. Thanks for the tip.
BTW if it doesn’t load, how would I get a picture of the island?
I had trouble with the picture because even when i took a screenshot it was not 256 x 256, a png, or 24 bit color so I just ended up using paint to design a logo for it, a black background and white text (Stencil font).
Also, I agree with Robodl95 that the wait time is ridiculous but in my opinion it’s worth it.
Been working on my town forever and I’m still tweaking it. Love the tool though and the ability to import heightmaps is awesome. Here’s hoping I finish it by the new year 🙂
I am almost done a new and larger version of my neighborhood, now with 161 lots! Just have a few finishing touches left, hopefully i’ll upload it 2morrow.
two hours?! forget that! no..i’m kidding. sadly i don’t have two hours to spare.
