The Sims 3 Collector’s Edition…I can understand that.Β The Sims 3 Back to School Collector’s Edition (released in certain regions)…eh not so much, but I’ll let it pass.Β The Sims 3 Holiday Collector’s Edition…whoa, calm down EA!Β A little too much in such a short period of time.Β I bet your wondering ‘WTF’, I didn’t hear about a Christmas Edition.Β Well, news broke out earlier today (thanks to both The Sims Slovenija and SimTimes) spotting a listing for this game, as well as the details on the content (source from CoolShop):
- Includes everything the original Collector’s Edition has (stickers, 2GB USB Stick, ringtone, Prima Tips guide)
- All-new The Sims 3 Xmas song
- 6 Xmas themed decor items for your Sims
- All-new Xmas The Sims 3 themed wallpaper
Alright, sweet – 6 christmas items, a wallpaper and a Christmas song…That makes me want to buy the game all over again!Β No thanks, pass…But then again, they aren’t trying to sucker the ones who already have spent the money on the game…or are they?Β Either way, we’ll probably see the items on the Sims 3 Store while the Xmas Song and wallpaper will be offered as freebies on the net.Β I just wonder what they are justifying for the price.Β So far, no other details have been announced – or even if this edition will hit the US (chances are high it will).Β All we have to go by is an estimated release date of November 17, 2009.
Like we were chatting about on Twitter, most parents might buy this for Christmas for casual gaming kids. But, I was expecting more… maybe a Christmas stuff pack was going to be released and bundled with this…
Oh, please, Jud. This coming from a rabid fan who insists on collecting the measley Sims 2 theme packs that have been released lately? lol Sure, you won’t buy it! π

a holiday collector’s edition but everything included is christmas based? seems a little one sided on the holidays….
LOL, I knew you would. You know, if it were a Stuff Pack with loads of holiday items, and not just Christmas but other holidays, then I’d get it for sure. But only six items? No, thanks. I’ll pass. But I guess for those who want the base game because they have yet to get it; it’s a “special” treat.
The Sims 3 Holiday collector’s edition doesnt sound interested to me which it might be same as the sims 2 holiday stuff. EA eat people money! I will not buy unless its for FREE because its a christmas gift! Think about it EA! cya
