Lucky, lucky, lucky. Getting a chance to attend a function at the EA Studios is similar to winning the golden ticket to Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory. Only differences is you’re not going to see chocolate and (hopefully) you won’t come back swollen as a blueberry or smelling like a dumpster. Design Mom proves that if you have a kid who acts on their best behavior will net you awesome opportunities in life, like getting a chance to try out Spore Hero, MySims Agents and other EA games – as well as scoring cool swag!
I am not exaggerating even slightly when I say we spent 90% of our EA time playing video games. It was pretty much awesome like that. The schedule: visit the studio where the new Spore Hero game was developed (Spore Hero will launch in the next month, so this was a sneak peak). Meet the creators. See the cool office space. Visit the crew of guys who are paid to play the game and test it out (don’t you love that? it’s a real job!). Then sit in a room with a dozen Wii consoles and try out Spore Hero for ourselves. For as long as wanted to.
I find it strange how EA don’t invite fansites who are committed to the job, but invite little kids to run around the campus! Sorry, EA, but I feel a slight injustice
Oh, and she says “I can’t say I spend much of my personal time gaming”!!!
What about the dedicated, hardcore fans who play The Sims 3 every day?
They have to get views from everyone they can, and the game markets itself to the kids of that age group. What better way for good press then to read the articles of the parents whose kids actually played the game? Some of these events are looked upon certain statistics. They’d (EA) already knows we are interested in the game, and our followers as well. They are trying to reach the market that are undecided. 🙂
