SnootySim’s Twitter pointed out a link to the UK EA Sims 3 forum where Community Manager EAUK_Adroit listed three reasons why World Adventures is priced higher than the series previous expansions. The first statement is that The Sims 3 World Adventures provides more gameplay and items, adding storyline elements by building on goal oriented gameplay. The second is the fact that we’re getting $10 worth of SimPoints (which really, we can’t say is free because in the end we’re actually paying for it). Last, we’re going to get access to an Explorer’s kit that contains 15 exclusive items to be downloaded when we register the game.
Surely, the last two is a benefit for those who purchase the game instead of illegally downloading it. But if that’s the case, why bother pricing it higher? In the end, the Explorer Kit will be floating around the net soon after release…And items from The Sims Store can be gained for free by a google search. 🙁 Sucks that consumers are paying more for the so called extras that are suppose to benefit us, when pirates are still able to get them for free. Why can’t they throw physical content – like coupons for money off EA’s games, stickers, pens, collectibles, etc. That’d be stuff worth having 🙂
i say we send a stripper dressed as a cop to whoever is in charge with making pricing decisions and what to include in the pack (say…the lack of cute free stuff such as pens, tshirts, etc)
find out their preference (ya never kno) and make the “cops” say somethin like:
“you’ve been raising the prices on your expansion packs without adding anything cool for the consumers…..i’ve come to arrest you!” **dun dun dun ::techno music!:: dun dun dun**
Not to mention, they’ll add a ton of new items to the Store after World Adventures is released, that they could’ve easily add to the EP itself.
