First off, I’d like to apologize to the readers of this site for preparing a poll last week. When I went to tear down my computer Sunday, I’d figure it’d be a piece of cake to put in 2 new harddrives and a new graphics card. However, I was proven wrong. Kept getting a BSOD while trying to install Vista. After a long time troubleshooting, finally remembered that in order to install Vista x64, my motherboard could only run it with less than 3GB of RAM (an error by the motherboard’s manufacture). Using 2GB of memory, I was successfully able to install Vista. My celebrations were short lived, because when I updated using Windows Update, I was hit with another BSOD. After 2 failed attempts, I went online to grab both Service Pack 1 and 2. Luckily those fixed my problems and all has been well ever since!
So that’s my story….Let’s have a look at the poll results from the previous poll “Did you have any problems after installing the patches for The Sims 3?” 234 readers chimed in to share their experiences:
- Nope, the patch worked perfectly fine! (52%, 122 Votes)
- It was a disaster, my game was ruined! (27%, 63 Votes)
- There were a few hiccups, but nothing major. (21%, 49 Votes)
For the most part, the patch worked fine – with a few hiccups along the way. Nothing threatening though. But 63 people were not so lucky – either having to re-install their game or giving up on it completely. Wish I had advice to give you, but these days there are so many possible things that can cause problems there’s no telling what solutions there could be!
And this week’s poll? Hmmm….Well there is the fact that ‘The Sims 2 University Life Collection’ is hitting store shelves this week (can’t you tell, the site’s design is sporting an advertisement for it!). Anyone have plans to pick it up? For the most part, we all should have the expansion and the stuff packs. But for those who haven’t tried The Sims 2 yet…Would you consider going back picking up Double Deluxe and University Collection? Earlier today I went out and bought The Sims 2 Double Deluxe, The Sims Carnival Bumper Blast, The Sims Pet Stories, The Sims Life Stories and The Sims Castaway Stories. I’m going to have to say I’ll be picking up University Life myself… 😛
