A week after The Sims 3 release, it was stated that the game sold more than 1.4 million copies worldwide – making it the fastest selling Sims game of all time. Now that the NPD data for June was published, Gamasutra received word that the copies sold in the US during the month was estimated at 820,000. Of course, I believe this is only for retail copies and not digital downloads, but that’s pretty impressive just coming from the US! Here’s the NPD PC data for the month of June listing the top 20 games:
