Woot!Β A strange blue police box ( π ) dropped off a package earlier today and to my surprise guess what was in it?Β That’s right, the Collector’s Edition!Β So being the nice kind of guy I am, I’ve decided to snap a bunch of pictures to show you what you’ll get come on release day (or even earlier depending on how it was shipped!)

So tell us, can you download Riverview already and use the Store and the Exchange? In other words, are the community features fully functional, or are they waiting till June 2 to flip the switch?

Ugh, it even has the fugly cover on it too. I am so glad I decided to get the regular version instead after seeing how horrible cars are. Wow, not even the non-fugly cover to save it.

Wow! Lucky. I got an email from EA Store saying it shipped yesterday, so here’s hoping it comes Tuesday and not a day later! Though it would be nice if UPS “accidentally” delivered it on Monday instead!

It depends on when GameStop ships. Various places have already shipped theirs out, but I don’t recall Gamestop sending them just yet.

Hey jud — I see you have a semi-official role over at the new tech support forum π They couldn’t have chosen a better person. Is that how you got your game early? :O
Anyway, since I can’t post yet, just wanted to suggest that you point out to the powers that be that their forum is still misspelled as “tecnical support” π
I wish they choose me π But nope, no word or contact from a Maxoid, I’m doing this on a voluntarily basis, hoping that the Sims 3 BBS doesn’t end up like the Sims 2 BBS with everyone asking the same question over and over and over π I’ll post a note that the forum is misspelled though.
If I keep hard at work…perhaps they’ll consider me as a temp. mod. Would be cool…with the chaos at the Sims 2 BBS yesterday, someone needs to watch the forums on the weekends!

Sadly, they left the piano out of the game. I don’t understand either, the piano is the base musical instrument in both 1 and 2!

Given EA’s emphasis on “community”, they REALLY need better community management on the forums :/ Maybe they’ll ramp it up for Sims 3 though.

You can wipe the stick clean and use it for whatever you’d please. π As for how I got it, it came thru the mail early π
Oh, so the guide in the Collector’s Edition isn’t the Prima Guide we can get separately? Thanks for the info! Now I can know for sure, that I won’t end up having two guides that are the same, since I ordered Collector’s Edition and the Prima Strategy Guide.

I just thought I’d let you know that Best Buy has the Collectors Edition version of the Strategy Guide for $19.99 which is what most retailers are selling the regular guide at. It comes with a pretty descent Mouse Pad and it’s a hard back version. It looks really cool…
That’s good news, I’ll be sure to make it back out there the end of this week to pick one up! I need a new mousepad anyways!
Hey in the pics there are smaller cases that say sims 3 what are they?
I got the collecters Edition today, I was so friggen excited until i installed and it wudn’t play, my heart almost stopped. I freaked out. turns out i need a new graphics card to handle the pixel shading but i think i am getting it tomorrow so yay!!
Just thought I would add………. When I opened the box I took out the thumb drive keychain held it above my head and walked around around the house telling everyone…..
“Look I’m a Sim! this is way better than creating myself in the game” then just cuz I could, I said “go here” and walked to random places, walked to the couch and said “sit ” followed by “watch t.v.” my mother thought it was weird when I said “change station -> SimStation Dance” My family thinks I am nuts now…. >.<
Is it wrong that I have put the box up on a shelf for display?……I dun think it is!

well I thought the vid was pretty cool……… I got my graphics card today and it has taken me nearly two hours to get it to work :@ but now it is working so hopefully now i will play and enjoy thing thing that i have been waiting a long time for.

omg, i so envy you π i wanted a collector’s edition but my friend accidentily help me pre-order a standard one so… i couldn’t have a collector’s edition and seeing ur pictures only makes me envy people that owns one… but i wanna ask, how come ur disc has colors, where as mine is… all green? which looks like a pirated disc…
I’m not sure…Are you from a different country? From what I know, both standard and collectors have the same dvd artwork that I have.
