BlackGarden over at The Sim Shack posted various pictures of The Sims 3 running at different settings – from low, medium and to high. Her analysis is based on the recent pics from the Taiwan fanday event (from My Sims World).
Here is her breakdown:
First off, the low quality. Textures are fuzzy, shadows are not well defined. From what I can make out of the text, however, they seem to remark that the gameplay is still quite smooth, and that one can follow their Sims as they ride a bike or drive their car without the game lagging.
This one is medium quality. I think the graphics card in this may have been an 8500GT, though I may have just misinterpreted the text. You can see the textures are decent quality here, and the water details are not lost.
Finally, these shots are taken on a high quality computer. This beast probably had an NVidia 8800GT (judging from the article it was one of these: Ati X1900 / Ati HD3850 / Ati HD4870x2 / nVidia 8800GTX / nVidia 8600GT) and a fast dual core or a quad core processor, and at least 2GB of RAM.
She goes on with more in-depth information, so I’d suggest you swing by The Sim Shack to finish reading!
The high graphics pictures at the end look really good! Let’s see who it turns out on my lappie.
(By the way, thanks for the constant updating… it really is, how can I put this… brainstorming! I’m so anxious about it!)
🙂
Yes. The quality’s are great, but how do we get high quality or even just a decent quality TS3?
By the way, I love the constaint updating! It’s wonderful to see someone devoted to their website!
🙂 Thumbs up!
It depends on the hardware in your machine – mainly the graphics card, but the processor and RAM contribute to (so you don’t experience lag if your running on high settings).
Thanks for the kind comment, I appreciate it!
The high graphics settings are less than my $500 pc’s. (yeah it was an awesome deal)
Color me happy. I may actually make movies this time around O_o
I also wonder if its gonna auto detect… its been so long since I first installed Sims 2 that I can’t remember if it auto detected the graphics quality.
I received the sims 3 today and installed it onto my laptop. My laptop meets all of the requirements. The start up screen was crystal clear and amazing quality. When I tried to create a sim the quality was awful. The body parts even came apart from each other when I tried to change the physic of the sim. Once in game play the quality was just as bad. There better be a patch out soon to fix this
