There’s something you didn’t see in the previous Sims games. It’s my Sims 3 sim on his morning commute to the Landgraab Industries Science Facility, where he works five days a week as a carnivorous plant tender in pursuit of his lifetime wish to reach the top of the science career. Harlan Whyte spent his first few days’ salary to purchase the cheapest car available, the Sloppy Jalopy for $950. Figuring I’d replace it before too long, I hit the randomize button and poor Harlan ended up with the above color scheme.
A very small read from Sci-Fi’s Fidgit website. I usually end up cheating and giving my Sim the most expensive car, but I’ll set some time aside to play an ‘honest’ game…in which my Sim’s going to be the proud owner of a POS vehicle – perhaps I’ll model the character after my dad 😛
I’m the same when it comes to money cheats. I did play an “honest” game recently though. It was actually a lot of fun. I plan to do more in Sims 3.
You know, you should make a machinima staring your POS vehicle. 😉 Give it character by hitting the random button like the guy in the story did.
LOL you just gave me an idea for a machinima. I’ll jot it down and see if I can work with it 🙂 May involve a song from Adam Sandler
From what I’ve read on MATY, owning a car doesn’t stop a sim from taking the carpool to work — you have to manually direct the sim to the car to get them to take it instead, and the carpool doesn’t stop coming. Taxis are also instant and free. So I’m not sure there’s actually a gameplay reason to own a car anymore :/
