Do you believe The Sims is an “unmanly” game? GamesRadar believes so! In fact, it is just 1 of their 10 games men should never be caught playing. While I do agree with some of the games on that list (Fashion Style for DS, Baby Pals, and Imagine Figure Skating) great games such as Wii Fit, Nintendogs and The Sims are classified for “wussies”.
Well, if that is the case then….damnit, I’m a wuss 🙁
Ugh, whatever! That is so stereotypical! Many men play it for the sole purpose of creatures in the game and have made their games into a sci-fi fantasy. So, what, fighting/action/blood/gore is the only way to be a real man? Ugh, sounds like a real loser article. I’m so upset by this and very much annoyed. No, Jud, you are NOT a wuss! They’re just jerks who care about games that fit their own taste. Oh, and I too am a male. 😉
When you look at it, on PC terms a lot of games are shooters. I don’t mind shooters – I just started a game of Crysis in fact. However, I’m not experienced with them either. I can handle the mouse perfectly, but the keys on the keyboard are a whole different story.
So other than shooters, you have RPGs and Simulation games. I don’t understand why anyone would label Sims as “unmanly”. Have they forgotten that The Sims came from…SimCity? So if you look at it from that approach, would SimCity be considered unmanly? Nope! SimCity opened the door for many types of games to be created, and The Sims is just a branch from that.
