I loved reading the Garfield books when I was young, and I still read them in the comics to date! One of my biggest questions is if Jon could understand Garfield. In the comics, it looks like Jon can, but in my opinion, he is just interperting Garfield’s expressions and body language.
What would happen if you replaced Garfield with a normal cat that doesn’t understand a word Jon says. Well…the answer is below.

That’s great! I miss the sarcastic or cynical comments in this version, but I love the realistic cat disinterest. I’ve always been a big Garfield fan too. I’ve got a shelf-full of Garfield books.
