-- WORKS WITH ANY VERSION OF THE SIMS --

Flowers and Shrubs - For (almost) Everywhere!
(FlowersOutdoor.iff and Shrubs.iff)
version 3 - includes ALL updates/details written below:

This will allow you to place the flowers and shrubs from the original game (almost) anywhere you want! You can place them inside, outside, next to the water, on the water, on a slope - even in the air! You can even place them through other objects, plants and trees for more interesting decorating possibilities.

There are some limitations. It didn't make sense to me to allow placement for the pool - and you can't run a diagonal wall through them either, or place them on a surface.

This affects the tulips, daffodils, wildflowers and nasturtium - and also all of the original hedges and the rose bush.

UPDATED: Version 2 allowed the flowers to be placed on a floor tile. This new version will also allow them to be placed in the air - if you can find a purpose for that. (I did, at the top of a staircase!)

But most importantly, this has been updated to work with any version of the game. It also means if you have Makin' Magic, this is the version to use - because the older one does not include a new interaction needed for MM . . .

Just place both FlowersOutdoor.iff and Shrubs.iff in your GameData/Objects folder, and have fun with the new possibilities!

NOTE: If you have the previous version of the "Flowers and Shrubs" upgrade posted at Simslice - or the "Flowers upgrade - version 2" posted at my Yahoo group, you should remove "FlowersOutdoor.iff" from your game first before using this new one. "Shrubs.iff" has been unchanged, except for the description - so it's up to you if you'd want to replace it or not . . .

A note about the flowers: Even though you can intersect them with almost any object, you can't place more than one flower plot on the same tile. I tried making them that way and it made the blooming schedule quite erratic.

You may also want to be careful where you place them - to make sure your sim or the gardener can actually reach them - or if you don't want to be limited like that, you can just use Candall's watering system, which you can find at: www.strategyplanet.com/thesims/candall There is also a feature in MM that should help - and if things go well, there may also be a new sprinkler type object on the way . . .

Also worth noting - if you want to place any of these flowers or shrubs in or next to the water, you need to have the water in place first, then add the flowers or shrubs.

(Important note: These changes will only affect the ones you place after adding this modified file. The ones on your lots already will still be the same as before.)

Also, if anyone would like to clone these to make your own flowers and shrubs (or anything really) that have the same placement properties, it's fine with me. Just a brief mention would be nice. :)
