Rincon Del Simmer has found two job listings from September for Gameplay/UI Engineers & two other jobs at EA Redwood. There’s mention of multi-player and The Sims in the descriptions. Dunno about y’all, but I hope this is for another spin-off and NOT The Sims 4.
Flash, actionscript… that sounds more like a browser game to me. Maaaaaybe mobile or tablets, but those don’t always play well with Flash. Unless its compiled in a way like Bejeweled as a ‘stand alone’ game. Do I make sense? I speak code better than English ;P
I saw they also need someone who can handle ‘transactions’ and make it ‘hack resistant’…. Am I being overly paranoid when I think this *could* mean its not hack resistant NOW? The other alternative would be that they are planning ahead for future growth… and we all know that ‘thinking ahead’ is blasphemy in EA-speak 😛
Its the SIms 4 you know it to be true…… EA will drive the final stake through the series with an online privacy invasion mmo type game….. Seeing as they are a “no single player” company now….
If the sims 4 is mmo only I won’t be buying it. I want single player mode for my sims gameplay so I can play it the way I want to.
Now if we have the option to do multiplayer or singlemode that will be fine.
Saying this now it looks like we may not see the sims 4 for another 2 years if the rumours are correct and were getting 4 or more expansion packs.
I think there could be a console version of The Sims 4 coming out with multiplayer mode launching simultaneously with the PC version. Could explain why we haven’t heard about a Sims game on Wii U yet. Or maybe they’re adding true multiplayer to The Sims Social since Flash is involved?
Also, The Sims 3 website is the largest EA community site? I still feel like we’re treated as a niche fanbase compared to their sports and shooter games.
Now that they see Zynga going down the crapper, I think they are rethinking their strategy. I don’t know if you pay attention to the stock market or company earnings, but Zynga hasn’t been doing good for a while. Now that EA doesn’t see Zynga as a huge threat, they have scaled back on social and invested more in their cash cow games. But, to be sure, social gaming will be here, probably for good.
Well we got 5 packs this year, so 5 next year is a possibility. I still see them announcing TS4 it at E3 or Gamescom next year. Unless they have their own thing again where they’ll announce it late next year.
Well it’s no secret the average Sims player does not want ‘Online’ gameplay. People like to play solo (like me). I don’t need all the online crap.
In my opinion the whole online social media stuff they introduce in the Sims 3 now is allready too much for me. That’s why I turned it off. .. But a whole sims 4 online game?..
No. I won’t buy it, and I will be not the only one.
I will not buy that.
I hate online and Multi-Player games.
I think it would be cool to visit other peoples houses, worlds and sims, but not all the online chatting stuff and the stuff like simcity will get.
