Awhile back I think Jud already made a YouTube account. It might have closed, though.
Jud did make one but we don’t have access to that. Since I’ve been going crazy with our Facebook – making it more active – I thought id also revive a YouTube with new videos for us.
What is the point in uploading copyrighted materials to the channel? All that is likely to do is provide you with strikes and eventually get the channel closed. It also doesn’t really serve any purpose, all those trails are found by just YouTubing them anyway, and are all available on the official Sims channel.
I’m all for activity and SimPrograms having a YouTube channel, but there is no point in uploading trailers of the games to that channel.
I been hit by a ton of strikes…think I had two accounts banned. I don’t like uploading to YouTube anymore myself :/
I don’t have a single strike on either of my accounts, it’s just a matter of posting content that is entirely your own, or you have the explicit right to post it. In my case, I’m allowed to post gameplay, as almost all games will let you post gameplay videos and screenshots without any issue.
Unless this new channel is able to get explicit rights from EA to post the content, which it most likely won’t, because EA will want the views on their trailers, it will end up getting a strike at some point or another.
I think this channel would be much better used if it were for news updates, kinda like the Day7 videos I did for a brief period a few years back.

YouTube says it belongs to EA, and that the video is still available worldwide – just had to acknowledge that EA owned the content after uploading it. Loads of other YouTube channels do this, and the old SimPrograms channel had this too.

Also plan to put more than just trailers on there – original content.
That’s not too bad. And I know loads of other channels do that, which is why the whole point of it is lost on me. I don’t see the need in reuploading others work that is already on YouTube.
I’d love to see some original content on there. Maybe even make it a community channel where others can submit their Sims related videos. I’d be willing to promote the channel and submit some of my own if this were to become the case.

That’s a really interesting idea, having a channel where people can share their videos and they get placed on there. I really like it!
I subscribed! 😀
How do I remove my comment from 5 years ago? xD
